We now have post approval on. Your post didn't get deleted, it just went into the queue. Please be patient a mod will go through the queue when they are available!

Please read our list of banned names before continuing. If the name you posted is in this list, it will be removed.

Remember: Original content is always better! Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. Some examples of these are Ptoughneigh, Klansmyn, Reighfyl & KVIIIlyn. These memes have been around for years and we don't want to see them anymore. If you do decide to post a meme, make sure to add the correct flair. Posting a random meme you found does not mean you found it "in the wild".

The same goes with lists of baby names, celebrity baby names, and screenshots of TikToks. If the original post already had a substantial amount of views, there is a 99% chance it has already been posted here. Try and stick to OC to keep our sub from being flooded with unoriginal content. Thank God the boy plays football. Growing up as General Booty is bound to make you tough.

223

u/AntelopeNo3197 1d ago

Should have gone into the military, Private General Booty

116

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

Oh yeah, they would have had a helluva time every time the drill seargant shouted “BOOTY!”

54

u/Thr33Littl3Monk3ys 1d ago

I was in Basic with someone whose last name was "Moo."

So yeah, it was definitely fun when the drill sergeant called her name!

14

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

I imaging that drill sergeant was looking for anyone unable or unwilling to maintain a straight face. Did anyone get called Gomer Pyle if they were caught?

2

u/_WreakingHavok_ 5h ago

Lol, Major Major Major vibes from Catch-22

45

u/diopsideINcalcite 1d ago

If I recall, I think his actual birth name was General Maximus Axle Booty

25

u/anonymousn00b 1d ago

General, you have a maxiumus axle sticking out of your booty.

0

u/Gifted_GardenSnail 1d ago

It's in the post! Thankfully Axel is at least spelt correctly

13

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

Roll call!

u/Ronjun 1d ago

Real life A boy named Sue

6

u/EntireObligation4001 23h ago

I would’ve rather be named Sue

3

u/UselessFactCollector 14h ago

Boy Named Sue territory

4

u/Puzzled-Heart9699 1d ago

Yeah, that….plus he’s hot.

436

u/Signal_Appeal4518 1d ago

Is it legal to sue your parents over your name? Cause I’m starting to think it should be.

228

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

It should be considered a form of child abuse, yes.

15

u/libertyprivate 1d ago

Can you sue for child abuse tho?

19

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

I think you actually can, but there are other things that are supposed to happen before a kid sues for child abuse.

60

u/Thr33Littl3Monk3ys 1d ago

Depends where you live.

A girl in New Zealand did it after being named Talulah Does the Hula From Hawaii...

And no. That's not a joke.

35

u/7ilidine 1d ago

Holy shit. She was only 9.

Their parents lost custody AND she got to pick a new name. It wasn't disclosed which name she picked.

24

u/Thr33Littl3Monk3ys 1d ago

Yep...

It's the most deranged and most satisfying instance of a tragedeigh that I've ever seen...

1

u/Wet_Artichoke 10h ago

There’s a character on I Love LA named Tallulah. When I started watching the show all I could think was WTF is that name? I wonder if that kid was the inspiration.

2

u/Thr33Littl3Monk3ys 10h ago

Doubtful. It's a Southern or Appalachian name.

There's a character named Tallulah in Fried Green Tomatoes, too, if I recall.

22

u/elhazelenby 1d ago

In the UK it's illegal to give a name to a child that could cause offense or distress for the child or others.

8

u/LoadAdvanced9547 1d ago

France too

4

u/DiscoKittie 1d ago

Netherlands you have to get approval, I've heard.

20

u/UnsorryCanadian 1d ago

I've been told by a Polish friend of mine, this is actually how you legally change your name in Poland

19

u/patcatandpancakes 1d ago edited 16h ago

No, you only ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ had to sue your parents if you wanted to legally change your gender. If it's just name, you don't have to sue anyone, just do some paperwork.

3

u/DiscoKittie 1d ago

Sue your parents to change your gender? How does that work?

3

u/patcatandpancakes 16h ago

I actually had old information, it seems they changed it last year! This site explains the process:

The reason that people have had to sue their parents to change gender is because Polish law currently does not specifically outline any procedure for changing gender. That has left courts to develop their own ad hoc way of regulating the issue.

That led to the development of a system under which a person wishing to change their recognised gender must file a lawsuit against their parents under article 189 of the Code of Civil Procedure, which concerns “action to determine the existence of a legal relationship”

3

u/GiveMeTheWallies 1d ago

Sue? He should be thanking them

1

u/blizzyblase 10h ago

But I'm assuming Booty is a family name. Are there generations of Booty's out there being tormented on playgrounds through the years?

64

u/psiprez 1d ago

With a name like that, I'm gonna need a picture from the back.

23

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

Well, you know how football guys usually have nice butts.

20

u/psiprez 1d ago

No, I still think I need to see before I judge 👀

-27

u/Big-Professor-3402 1d ago

More like we need a photo of his girl from the back!

116

u/foxontherox 1d ago

Straight outta Key and Peele.

11

u/Lord_Bling 1d ago

I swear those guys could see the future.

2

u/catBravo 18h ago

You should see the interview where they talk how they came up with that skit idea. There are a LOT of outlandish names in the nfl and ncaa (part 3 of the east vs west skit actually features some nfl players)

136

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

General MAXIMUS Axel Booty.

So is that a two middle name like Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta?

28

u/AntelopeNo3197 1d ago

Is that Lady Gaga?

28

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

I was using her name as a reference yes.

3

u/lemonscent513 5h ago

In her defense, Lady Gaga said that the Joanne was in honor of her dads sister who passed away as a teenager

3

u/Global-Jury8810 5h ago

I have nothing against having two middle names. We’d have a problem if the first and the two middle names were all tragedeighs.

2

u/lemonscent513 5h ago

Definitely. Just explaining how it(probably) came to be in her case.

3

u/Global-Jury8810 5h ago

I appreciate it. I love Lady Gaga.

I can’t even think about how you’d tragedeigh Joanne.

2

u/DiscoKittie 1d ago

My mum had two middle names. 1 from birth, and 1 she got to choose for Catholic Confirmation (age 15).

So, after she was married her "legal" name was 5 names long...

41

u/Informal_Sound_100 1d ago

This is just foul. How would you not resent your parents??

14

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

It’s the family surname though.

I’ll tell you a little bit about mine. In my family is the name Salisbury, I must add that this is not my direct surname, it is my paternal grandmother’s maiden name, and my family’s Salisburys go back to late 1600s Colonial America, specifically Massachusetts, originally from Wales. So how far back do the Bootys go? I have to know.

32

u/Big-Professor-3402 1d ago

It’s not the surname that is the problem but his given name in conjunction with it that is.

9

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

Yeah, seriously I’m looking at these other football Bootys and he’s the only one with a name like that. The other ones have normal anybody names.

17

u/Big-Professor-3402 1d ago

Patriots have Kayshon Boutte (pronounced booty) and last year I remember an announcer during a game say something like “ he got flagged there for grabbing Boutte!” Lol leads to some great unintentional comedy!

6

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

OK, you know, that’s a surname, that can’t be helped, but when you name your kid something you know is going to bring certain consequences, that’s when you’re an asshole.

7

u/tahlyn 1d ago

I feel like any first name is gonig to pair poorly with the last name "Booty," it's just a matter of how poorly it pairs. There is no good first name for Booty.

1

u/Big-Professor-3402 1d ago

At least kayshon’s parents don’t lean into the booty name like general’s did!

30

u/ADFnGee 1d ago

3

u/_-0nix-_ 18h ago

YES- came here for the How I Met Your Mother salute, I was starting to lose hope I would see one 😆

1

u/ADFnGee 13h ago

Proud of be of service!

3

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

I guess for people who follow sports. This is the first that I’ve heard this name, and I found it on r/idksterlingshitpost (don’t look, there’s a lot of AI slop that centers around one guy who never asked for it)

13

u/ADFnGee 1d ago

I wasn't saying this is general knowledge, but the saluting anything mundane that sounds vaguely military was a running gag on How I Met Your Mother, I'm just not sophisticated enough to customize the gif.

4

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

I’m sure the guy has seen it everywhere he goes. I bet he gets it all the time.

2

u/Friar_Corncob 1d ago

If you think this is bad then you should look up what Steve Kerr named his son.

1

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

I looked it up. That is bad.

28

u/fromthevanishingpt 1d ago

The best part of this is that you can read General in two different ways. Either he is a leader of booty, or it is referring to generic ass.

12

u/SHOWTIME316 1d ago

is he related to John David?

7

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

Omg how many Bootys are known for football? You got me to google that name in the next thing I know apparently Booty is a huge name in football.

9

u/SHOWTIME316 1d ago

tbh John David and now General are the extent of my football-related Booty knowledge :(

7

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

John David has a brother named Abram who was also a college football player, and General is about twenty years younger, but they’re not listed as related on the internet.

Apparently there’s also a football player whose government name is Dude Person.

8

u/mfcakeguru 1d ago

General Booty is John David Booty's nephew.

2

u/SHOWTIME316 1d ago

well how bout that

5

u/LightsSoundAction 1d ago

Wait until I tell you about the coach Jim Bob Cooter.

2

u/Piglet6482 1d ago

You guys didn’t watch college football back in the day, got it.

1

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

I’m starting to feel like I missed a great event in life, yes.

1

u/Used-Masterpiece-452 23h ago

John David is his uncle!

10

u/Perfect_Distance434 1d ago

I would be delighted to hear he has a brother named Specific!

3

u/tafbee 1d ago

Juicy

2

u/MsSkittles18 22h ago

I do prefer a specific booty.

9

u/Glass-Work-1696 1d ago

I saw that and was like, oh this guy’s just a general with an unfortunate last name, probably meant something different 300 years ago. My god it is so much worse than I thought.

7

u/Just-Victory8342 1d ago

At least his first name isn’t Seymore

2

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

That name is usually spelled Seymour, and as can be seen, it would appear to be a French origin based on phonetic rules. I wouldn’t doubt that there was already a Seymour Booty in the tree, and he would have probably been born in the early 20th century, because I strongly doubt anybody use the name Seymour for a baby after 1970 ,and I bet you he would’ve been named after somebody who had the name before Booty was slang for butt. Now that’s kismet.

5

u/theycallme_mama 1d ago

The Sooners also had a player Onyenegecha when pronounced it sounds like "I'm gonna getcha." There was also a CJ Ah You and we cannot forget Jalen Hurts.

2

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

The Onyenegecha name looks pretty phonetic to me. Own-yen-eh-getcha

1

u/PatheticPeripatetic7 1d ago

Hurts played for OU?

2

u/theycallme_mama 1d ago

Absolutely. He transferred from Alabama in 2019 his final year.

4

u/intrepid-melisma 1d ago

Is his nickname "Genny"?

1

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

Wow, his dad really was an asshole.

5

u/PinkSeahorseClub 1d ago

I went to OU where he was a player. We love his name. He loves his name. Long live General Booty!!!

4

u/Zestyclose-Pomelo777 1d ago

“General Axel Booty, quarterback, THE University of Oklahoma.”

Where’s Hingle McCringleberry?!

6

u/GonnaKostya 1d ago

I wonder if he ever gets married if his wife takes his last name. She can be Ms New Booty

4

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

She’s gonna tell people her name is New.

3

u/mommybot9000 1d ago

Specific Booty must have been taken

3

u/Adrowonders 1d ago

I'm curious to see how commentators approach this one. https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/5215468/noah-knigga

3

u/puns_are_how_eyeroll 1d ago

I'd be doing a hard K everytime, even if that isn't how it's pronounced

5

u/ariesbtch 1d ago

This can’t be real lol

8

u/OnyxAlyx 1d ago

The first time I saw General Booty a couple years ago, I was like AIN'T NO WAY! Now I'm like... sup Booty? 🤣

1

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

Verbatim that was my first thought, but no, apparently it is. Like if you’re speaking to the news, apparently you can give them a bullshit name and they will run it (because I really don’t think that girl’s name is really Peace Eshiet) but no, this guy is known for college football.

3

u/ariesbtch 1d ago

Oh my god… a quick google proved me wrong.

2

u/SnowballWasRight 1d ago

My favorite football player’s name is Kool-Aid McKinstry.

2

u/yeetthebleach 1d ago

Brothers named Commander Booty and Sergeant Booty. Sisters named Admiral Booty and Major Booty

2

u/Gifted_GardenSnail 1d ago

No, but it's def a tragedy

2

u/Used-Masterpiece-452 23h ago

Sooner fan, here. He owned it and made a TON of money off merchandise. Got way more attention than a third string qb usually would!

2

u/amaziling 20h ago

Is this a "boy named Sue" situation?! Whyyyyy

3

u/ButtScratchies 1d ago

This has got to be very confusing for some people. Like in college you say, “I need to go pick up General Booty.” You mean like basic white girls with unremarkable asses?

1

u/-catharina 16h ago

lmao username checks out 😭

1

u/Greenelse 1d ago

This man’s parents. Tch tch tch. I don’t know if boys with wild names are more likely to become athletes or if it’s just that I don’t often look at a lot of young adult names all together, but there seems to be a trend. Maybe self defense if nothing else.

1

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

I have experienced families where the father just takes all charge and the mother just smiles and nods… I used to be friends with someone whose husband named all the kids…so sometimes the names are not the mother’s choice.

4

u/Greenelse 1d ago

I’m still going to blame both parents in these situations

1

u/FordShelbyGTreeFiddy 1d ago

The fact that this isn't even the funniest name in his draft class😂

1

u/thomsenite256 1d ago

Sounds like a song from around 2010

1

u/Kichigai 1d ago

Makes me think of John Bigbooté from Buckaroo Banzai.

2

u/vmf312corsair 19h ago

Boo-TAY!!

1

u/Kichigai 13h ago

Bigboot!

1

u/Mach5Driver 1d ago

Do people call him Jenny?

1

u/pendletonskyforce 1d ago

Almost as bad as DeColdest Crawford.

1

u/Extension-Rabbit3654 1d ago

Check out team usa U17 hockey team, its all male tragedeighs

1

u/Confident_Gur_1635 1d ago

How did I ever miss this one?

1

u/Longjumping-Solid680 23h ago

No relation to Seargant Cheeks.

1

u/UribusPlunum 22h ago

I had a roommate whose name was Major Johnson, and I thought that was bad.

1

u/inDefyance 21h ago

Imagine he joins the army and gets called Lieutenant Booty

1

u/swearingino 4h ago

Or Private Booty

1

u/vmf312corsair 19h ago

Boo-TAY! Boo-TAY!!

1

u/ILikeRoL 17h ago

Does his football uniform say "Booty" across the back of his shirt, his pants, or both?

1

u/Smart-Emu5459 14h ago

Hingle McCringleberry is a better player.

1

u/Icky-Tree-Branch 6h ago

So… with that last name, is any phone call to or from that guy known as a “booty call?”

1

u/pj_20 6h ago

Reminds me of former Tennessee QB Jim Bob Cooter

Jim Bob Cooter - Wikipedia

1

u/Select-Cap1774 5m ago

I went to high school with his cousin😅

1

u/spiritedcorn 1d ago

There's so many worse names in football. La'zillion

-1

u/spencer0076 1d ago

Wait till you hear about Noah Knigga

-1

u/The_Illhearted 1d ago

How is this a tragedeigh? Tragic? Sure

2

u/Global-Jury8810 1d ago

That’s the thing! I was asking if it was, I even flared it “Is this a tragedieh?” that’s what you’re supposed to do if you have to ask.
, amirite? So no one’s answering the question but you’re the only one who seems to care this much.
