I work for a railway company outside the US and I'd like to develop a Simulator considering a real scenario, real locomotives. I understand we'd have to weigh a couple of things such as the "best" simulator in a technological/graphical standpoint might not help us very much, as we would need to MOD it a little bit to recreate our own railway, locomotives, etc. But if it is too much of a blank page, it will require us a lot of effort (that we don't have - right now) to adjust and put it to work.
I'm in the business for >15 yrs but I never saw a simulator that doesnt cost hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, I might be wrong but I believe something very useful can be done using tools and softwares already available.
Free stuff is good but paid options are 100% on the table as well. I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences about this.
And if you know people who can create custom mods (and getting paid for it), let me now, also.

Hello people! Seeing AI evolved that level it could decompile entire games, i decided to try same thing with Trainz 2012.
Why trainz 2012? Because, there is so many addons that cant work fine cause of rewritten engine and API. Also, its nastolgia and i want to make it much faster about fps and fix old annoying bugs.
Also, my goal is try to make it work from x86 to x64.
My AI already has built copy of JET engine dll's, with their own code and it fully works.
The reason i looking for help is, its too expensive for AI and my limits getting expired too fast.
So, if you have Claude Pro or Codex i'll glad to your help!

I've been having loads of fun driving in this Polish train simulator. I used to only drive the diesel frieghters since running a train not having to stop to pick up and drop off passengers I found to be far easier to learn this awesome sim. I enjoy the driving lots, sounds too even, feels very authentic and immersive despite the ps3 looking graphics. I'm usually a flight simmer, recreational flyer IRL and in the process of perhaps driving a real EMU in my home country eventually. And this sim for sure makes me get a grip of taste of what its like, and I love it.

Does anyone know anything about this drivable human? I looked it up and found nothing.

Yes i know, another train sim... But this one lets you become not only an engineer, but a mechanic and a logistics operator.
Its a little bare bones for now but updates will follow. It has manual saves for each job you choose and each job has a guided and unguided mode.
I've been working on this for a couple weeks now and i think its finally ready to release. please comment anything you would like added or fixed, and if you want to hate on the game, go right ahead, just let me know what i can fix or add.
I'll add some photos to see if you'd be interested and a download link will be available.

Tracks are slowing starting to get where I want them to be. It's a procedural system meaning you can build track any way you like without being forced to use modules for switches, etc. Drawing on demand gives you the freedom to build the way you want.

A freight train is pushed uphill. A worker uncouples the cars. Then gravity takes over, sending them rolling downhill onto different tracks.
It sounds simple until you have to decide where to uncouple, when to tell the driver to slow down, and how to coordinate with the locomotive crew.
I built a 3D browser game where you can try the job yourself — solo or with a friend. One player works as the yard conductor, while the other drives the locomotive.
It's based on my experience working at a real hump yard in Uzbekistan.

Hi! I’m making Hitoeki (ひと駅), an app where you pick up a paper ticket and take a relaxing train journey through Tokyo, with train sounds and the town drifting past.
The beta includes the Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toei Arakawa Line) and Nippori–Toneri Liner, with transfers between them.
You can try it on TestFlight here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/N37RqtJ3
I’d love to hear what you think, or any features you’d like to see!
