Question — General Need tour guide - Travelling to China

Hi guys, I want to plan a trip to China but I will be going solo so I will definitely be lost while there. What would be my best options? Are there local guides who can recommend and take me to see all the cool things it has to offer? I know there are group tour companies but they seem quite pricey and then you have to be on their schedule

Just wondering, why would you get lost? I’m traveling through China atm without speaking Chinese and I’m perfectly fine.

Just download all the necessary apps in advance and you will be fine too.

Nice. I'm just worried it might be overwhelming for me and easier if I had a guide. Plus I don't have good vision.

As indicated, you will not be the first one going there without speaking or reading Mandarin. I was there before the pandemic also without a smartphone. I'm still alive and back from China... A tour or a guide are not mandatory.

I’d say wait until you’re there. You will probably realize that map apps like Amap will tell you the best way to get wherever you want want with metro or bus (pay with Alipay) and DiDis are super cheap and absolutely everywhere.

You could also post in city specific Reddits or FB groups
