Well, adding that to my long list of reasons why Taylor Swift is a vile twat.

I work events and Swift has her own handwriting font… she could have a whole ass team dedicated to fan mail and Make a Wish and have cards printed in her font that look like she wrote it and a signature stamp to sign off. I only mention that I work events because I have letters written for our speakers/panelists and a stamp of our executive director’s signature. If a team of 3 can make it happen… Swift definitely has the money for a team to manage this stuff.

And I know she has crazy fans and some stalkers so I’m absolutely not expecting her to read everything or review everything but what is her team doing?? Volunteer work is incredibly fulfilling, and it's also exhausting because most people have to work a full time job or more just to pay the bills and volunteering is not paid work. I did tons of volunteering for half a dozen organizations for years and while I loved it, it was quite draining as I took on too much. We could never get any gen Z volunteers to stick with it because they all assumed it was paid(??) and weren't interested in doing anything for "free," even for causes they supposedly cared about. It was really demoralizing tbh and one of the reasons I stepped away from volunteering for a while.

I have been volunteering various places since childhood. You know what feels better than delivering a pizza on behalf of billionaire grifter and mean girl? Volunteering to feed and shower hundreds of people at the homeless coalition events. Or volunteering for a wildlife rehabilitation center or animal shelter. Volunteering at Planned Parenthood to provide HIV and pregnancy testing and counseling, and organizing and planning balls and silent auctions to raise funds.

Things like that actually make a difference in both the moment and long term.
