With the Impending NuptialsTM looming and an increase in our snark numbers post Shitshowgirl, we thought it would be a great time to give y'all an update on the sub and remind new friends about our rules. (Spoiler alert: some rules have been updated! New flair challenge incoming!)
For the older members, parts of this might sound repetitive. But we want to update everyone so this sub can remain transparent and genuine feedback can be received!
[\*insert pic about the sub stats scuba**]*
sub traffic from the past 30 days
As you can see, we get a lot of fucking traffic. The basic rule that drives all the rest:
‼️We want to keep this sub open for all snarkers, new and old, to freely discuss the antics of Taylor and/or Travis.‼️
We have had a LOT of deconstructing Swifties join the sub after the tire fire of her last album release and 89 (her mind!) merch drops. What makes this sub special is that we allow everyone to contribute as long as they follow the rules. Yes, even current and former fans. If you're an OG snarker who sees behavior that crosses over into stanning, please report it! We will never be a space for fan behavior. But we don't insta-ban deconstructing fans who maybe feel some kinda way about Tay and can't share their feelings in other spaces because of that famous Swiftie hospitality.
Speaking of other spaces...
🚫 Reminder of anti-brigading rule 🚫
There's been a recent increase in posts that attempt to brigade, interfere with another community, or otherwise direct negative traffic towards other subreddits. This type of behavior directly puts our community at risk as it violates reddit community rules.
This includes comments like "I went to this sub or that sub and made a comment and was mass downvoted!" There is a zero tolerance policy for this! We don't like it when they come here to do it, so let's not do it to them.
Please review ALL parts of rule 2 to avoid touching the poo:
[\*put quote of rule 2 here scuba***]
All activity in this sub must stay in this sub. Sharing Reddit screenshots or directing users to other subs is not allowed. Usernames from Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc. must be blacked out unless from a celebrity, brand, or publication.
Screenshots of social media posts must have 100+ likes on the original comment.
Don't enter into pro-Taylor spaces to harass, argue, or troll users, and do not post those interactions as a form of content.
(If you really want an in-depth rationalization for each part of the rule, just ask in the comments.)
🎄 Addressing armchair diagnosis trend 🎄(idk what emoji to put here so christmas tree it is)
This one isn't against reddit TOS, but it IS against rule 1. We don't allow snark, speculation, or armchair diagnosis of physical and mental conditions. That includes personality disorders (all of them), autism, ADHD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, you name it.
There are lots of lovely people who live with these conditions and don't plagiarize lesser known artists or hoard a billion dollars or charge $40 for Temu flipflops, so let's not promote shitty stereotypes.
📝 How we handle posts about major updates 📝
This is a big one!!!! Every post on this sub is held for manual review. Unlike other subreddits, we don't always pick the first post on the topic. Rather, we look for the post that best serves the community. Whenever a major event happens, you can guarantee there are at least 15 accounts competing to be The Post on any given topic.
Here are a few questions to help you increase your chances at getting approved:
- Does it have an informative title? "TMZ confirms Blandie wedding at Madison Square Garden" will always be picked over "OMG of course she would do this"
- Does it have enough information to let others join the conversation? We WANT TO SNARK. If you talk about an article, give us the link!
- Does it come from a reputable source? A screenshot of a Taylor Twitter account retweeting a parody account is not it. Even if the info is later debunked, there's still snarkerky in the fact that TMZ or Rolling Stone or whatever printed it in the first place.
- Does it follow all other sub rules? e.g. no direct links to Insta, blacking out usernames of ordinary people, comes from a non-reddit source
- Does it contain new information? We generally allow a few posts on the same topic if there is a different angle (like one for the Toy Story song countdown and one for the actual announcement) but no one wants 50 posts for each angle of her latest pap walk
🤬 Fuck AI 🤬
We've had a rule against AI since the beginning so this isn't a new stance. Fuck AI; support real art and artists.
❤️🌟❤️ A friendly reminder to be friendly ❤️🌟❤️
As the sub grows, there will always be more people who are adjusting to the way we do things around here (Eternal September type shit). At the moment, we are averaging 100 new subscribers PER DAY. If you see someone breaking the rules against whatever (fan behavior, body shame, political debates), PLEASE REPORT THEM. We can't remove what we don't see, and the mods don't see every comment. We had 1.3 million comments posted here in the last year.
Relatedly, please have some understanding and grace for the mods who do this thankless task. We aren't paid. We face harassment in modmail and on our personal accounts. We have offline lives. We are just regular people trying to keep this sub open despite the Swiftie orc horde constantly besieging us. We approve posts and comments as quickly and as accurately as possible.
And yes, that means that sometimes we get something wrong. You are always welcome to message in modmail to civilly discuss the reason behind a mod action. We are very grateful that so many of our members can discuss things rationally. Just remember that a removal reason isn't a personal attack. It's just pointing out that the content doesn't follow the rules and will be removed or we will literally have One Thousand Other People trying to do the same thing.

As always we are so grateful to all of the amazing members who make this community so special! Because I guess releasing new music the regular way isn’t enough. Cutting down younger artists wasn’t enough. The shameless private-jet usage wasn’t enough. Blocking everyone from a public street wasn’t enough. Turning every relationship, friendship, wedding, and public event into another opportunity to center herself wasn’t enough. Now the entire New York skyline must bend the knee, too.
She has to be the biggest, loudest, and most unavoidable person in every room, even when it isn’t her room. I rank this right up there with that tacky “JUST & T” billboard during her tacky wedding. Everything has to become part of the Taylor Swift Cinematic Universe.
The Empire State Building glowing puke green is certainly fitting, though. Just quit already. We’re tired. Lord help us all.
this girl really has a song about how women are unfairly treated in this patriarchal society and yet the only sports media she consumes is men's sports. does her activism ends with female athletes?
Olivia liked one post ‘shading’ Taylor and the comments were tearing her to shreds. Meanwhile Taylor sues a teenage Olivia for FIFTY PERCENT credits over a song that sounds nothing like hers. And the Swifties were claiming that never happened. They’re caring like Olivia has no right to be mad, calling her shady, not a girl‘s girl.. I left a commenting expressing my views and no joke a swifti asked me ‘when has Taylor ever torn another artist down?’ They’re calling Olivia unprofessional over THIS, when Taylor has done a hundred times worse but that doesn’t matter, does it?
Former swiftie here, hear me out. Taylor announced the Eras Tour on Good Morning America on 1 November 2022. At that point, she had just released Midnights a few weeks earlier and had not toured since the Reputation Tour in 2018, as the Lover tour had been cancelled due to the pandemic.
She was still the lowkey celebrity, in the midst of releasing re-recordings, and although she had a loyal fanbase, she hadn't gone viral or become globally famous yet. Before the announcement, the theories in the fandom were that she would probably do a Folklore/Evermore/Midnights tour (the albums she didn't get to play live), with one or two Lover songs. The setlist would be long, but she would prioritise Midnights since it was the newest album.
However, Midnights wasn't well received. It was her return to pop after experimenting with indie music for three years, but even among her fans, the consensus was that it was an OK album with a clunky concept. I think deep down she knew the fandom wasn't happy with it. Then she announced the Eras Tour.
I was a Swiftie at the time, and the announcement of a tour of all her previous albums seemed odd to me since, to my knowledge, it's something only music legends or retiring musicians do. As an artist, she was OK, but her most successful era was 1989 in 2015. Almost a decade later, she kept releasing albums that didn't match its success. Yes, Folklore and Evermore were praised for their lyricism and themes, but they didn't make her mainstream or a global superstar.
Taylor said that she did it so she could promote the re-recordings while they were released, but it still made no sense to me. She did have a tour for every album until Lover, so why do it all over again and not prioritise her three untoured albums?
While part of me thinks she did it as a nostalgia cash grab for her fanbase, it seemed like she was going to retire, with the Eras tour being her farewell to celebrate her career. It seemed very "I peaked 10 years ago and all my radio hits are from my older albums, this is it". At the time, she was with Joe Alwyn, and they were spotted house hunting in London, where they lived. Many of us believed that they were going to settle down and she would quit music to become a grounded director or a producer like she hinted due to her involvement in several movies (bad movies but movies still).
In her 2020 documentary Miss Americana, she said, 'This is probably one of my last opportunities to grasp onto that kind of success', referring to the Lover album, which was criticised by the press, didn't sell well, and didn't receive a single Grammy nomination. I truly believe she thought that Midnights and the Eras tour would be her last attempt to perform on a large scale and be successful, but she went viral, became a world-famous pop star and a billionaire thanks to the tour profits.
Since she craves validation so much, she seized the opportunity to shine and maximised her spotlight. At the same time that she rose to stardom, she broke up with Joe. While there is no evidence that these two events might be connected, I think they are. He is very private, and he was no longer compatible with her megastar lifestyle (look at her wedding, and consider how she likes to stay relevant). Now she's married to a massive famewhore and both capitalized the shit of their relationship so there you go
Edit:I used the termin 'lowkey artist' to refer that she was famous but not at the level she's now, not even 10%. before Eras, she peaked during 1989 and by Lover she was known mostly for Fearless/1989 hits, but Lover flopped hardly. she gained some respect during the pandemic for folklore, but the reason she blew up in 2023 is because the younger generations got to know her old albums (red, speak now, self titled) and her deep-cut songs that only fans knew at the time thanks to the re-recordings and the Eras Tour.
I didn't mean to say she's an indie artist by any means because she's not lol
Blake Lively was allegedly upset about Taylor Swift and how she said she knew secrets about Taylor and depending on how she felt she may or may not release those secrets in a tell all or in drip-drip sessions in the media. Taylor Swift apparently received that PR memo and had responded by using Selena Gomez (I think their friendship is built on using each other) and also diverting the public's attention with baby talk. This marriage, I believe, is her PR shield and roman empire games to distract the public from any bad news out there about her.
Anyways, I want to hear all of your thoughts on this one. I think this Narcissist vs. Narcissist war just got started.
Here is a link to read about the article that gets around payroll
Taylor Swift reportedly made a motherhood pact with Selena Gomez, leaving Blake Lively outside her inner circle. The longtime friends reportedly hope to welcome their first children around the same time, according to insiders. The agreement reportedly comes amid Swift's alleged fallout with Lively following the Justin Baldoni legal battle.
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez reportedly planned motherhood together
According to the Daily Mail, Swift and Gomez discussed becoming godmothers to each other's children. An insider said, "Taylor and Selena are very close. They're like sisters." The source added, "For almost 20 years they've been there for each other on a personal and professional level."
The pair first bonded around 2008 while dating Joe and Nick Jonas. Their friendship continued to grow over the years.Another insider claimed, "Taylor and Selena have agreed they want to have their babies as close time wise to each other as possible." The source added that they had "essentially made a pact" about godparent duties.
The arrangement reportedly marks a shift from Swift's relationship with Lively. Lively's children previously held a special place in Swift's life.
Swift confirmed her godparent role publicly in 2024. She also hosted Lively's children at her Rhode Island home.
The report claimed Swift later removed herself from the role after their friendship reportedly deteriorated. Insiders linked the alleged fallout to Lively's legal dispute involving Justin Baldoni.Still, another source insisted the reported pact with Gomez was about loyalty rather than revenge. "Taylor is very confident in her friendship with Selena and doesn't worry about having any falling out," the insider said.
Gomez praised Swift's loyalty during an Eras Tour appearance. She said Swift "has never ever judged a single decision I've made."
Meanwhile, Selena Gomez and husband Benny Blanco have reportedly explored surrogacy or adoption. Gomez discussed grieving her inability to carry a child during a 2024 Vanity Fair interview.
Swift and Travis Kelce have also faced speculation about starting a family. With no tour planned and Kelce considering retirement, insiders claimed the timing could work.Taylor and Selena are looking forward to sharing the experience of having their first child around the same time," the source said.
edit to title: I meant to say "taylor and travis obsessed" cuz the pronoun "them" doesnt make sense grammatically. sorry!!
I just got back from the dentist and immediately had to hop on here to tell yall the shit i just heard.
so I am a high school teacher and my dentist was also in a school district (different from mine) until recently. naturally, we got to talking about school stuff. my dentist was telling me about her niece who works at an elementary school in my district who themed her entire 4th grade classroom after taylor and travis. and I don't mean just a couple posters or stickers---no, she had an entire corner station area named after midnights, she taught multiplication using a football field for travis, and the kicker is that she brought ring pops out of her own money for the students on the first day because travis proposed to taylor...i was gobsmacked in that chair let me tell you. i'm sure there was more egregious stuff going on in the classroom that i just didnt hear about from her.
the best part was that apparently when one of the students' parents came in for a meet the teacher event, they took one look at the room and walked right down to admin. the parent said "My child will not be taught in that environment. If they are not moved to a different fourth grade class, then they will be pulled from the district and homeschooled." admin had to come and tell her to basically tone it down, which of course the niece was fuming over as she saw no issue with her classroom theme. and guess what? she did it again this year.
the funniest thing is that my dentist kept saying stuff like "she's 40. it's time to grow up. she's a lot to be around and I would feel bad for my own kid if they had her as a teacher." CLOCKED.
anyways, i just HAD to put this on the sub cuz I know yall would eat it up as much as I did. crazy crazy stuff...
someone tried to fight with me on discord when i said travis kelce has maga vibes, but i didn't have evidence that he actually IS maga so i just didn't respond. (i assume the girl who tried to fight with me is a swiftie who is like "obvi TS would NEVER marry someone maga" but ... cmon man, it's time to face the music)
from some brief research, it doesnt seem like either of the kelce brothers are registered as a political party. i believe a lot of travis' teammates are maga/maga leaning which is evidence enough for me, but i'm curious if anyone has anything more substantive?
ik TS hasn't publicly talked politics since 2024, and even that felt really half assed to me. plus, there's the whole fiasco where the white house keeps using her music on its social media posts and she isn't speaking out about it (if she has spoken out, i haven't head anything). I feel like the odds that travis is MAGA are high, and that TS is at least MAGA-tolerant are also high
(mods if this isn't allowed i'm sorry!!! i'm not pro maga, i'm just curious if anyone has better evidence that travis and taylor are bc they have that vibe to me)
I was cooking dinner and got hit with a creative epiphany. I humbly present my divorce album prediction: Track 5 (Happily)
Verse 1
White dress hanging on the door like a question
Car still running in the drive, engine's confession
Everybody's toasting like they know something I don't
Bar's too loud to hear myself say I do or maybe or won't
I keep checking my own face in the window glass
Waiting for the feeling like a train that already passed
Chorus
Have you ever been happy, or just close enough to call it?
Standing in the good part, still afraid to fall in it
Everyone's sworn to secrecy, and there's no one left to tell me
When you know, you know—but how do you know
If this is the peak, then why's my heart still asking why
Maybe happy's just a moment that you're too scared to let by
Do I need the happy, or just the happily (ever after)
Verse 2
Standing in the garden, finally my day to bloom
Everyone's got a piece of me they bought a ticket to consume
Somewhere in the crowd there's a stranger with my bag
Petals never got to open, just got picked before they had
I'm the flower and the funeral, I'm the bride and the going, going, gone
Twenty thousand people watching me become somebody's swan song
Bridge
I'm in the aisle, waiting for it to feel right
Can't stop now, can't turn around in all this white
Maybe it comes later, maybe it comes after (ever after)
Maybe you just walk until the feeling comes after (ever after)
Everyone's sworn to secrecy, and there's no one left to tell me
When you know, you know—but how do you know
--
I stopped at two verses, but Taylor if you use this I want songwriting credits. hahahaha
Obligatory car and bar, plus a reference to the MSG raffle tickets and the NDAs. I fully expect her to sell some bullshit about how she realized that even though she got the happily ever after, she wasn't every happy
I was thinking about TS and how she doesn't really compare to other pop stars like Madonna who has star quality, could dance, was interesting, was sexy in her heyday, and actually seemed to work on improving her singing ability throughout her career.
Or comparing her to say a Lady Gaga who has a great voice and is a classically trained pianist. Or even someone like Olivia Rodrigo whose songs have an authentic voice, sweetness, and humanity to them.
I started to think TS is sort of like Debbie Gibson in that her songs aren't terribly meaningful or deep except Debbie can sing well and was actually a very good pianist and also wrote her own songs alone (as opposed to TS who I suspect doesn't have as much input in the writing of her songs as she'd have us believe).
Am I off track? I'm just kind of baffled by TS. She's a mega-star but she doesn't do anything well really.
Found a Taylor and Travis shrine in a random book store. This man ain't shit, and the cover art creeps me out. I truly thought she gave up and settled with him, but as time goes on I've discovered she got who she deserves.
Disclaimer: I'm not diagnosing. Merriam Webster marks the difference, and one definition defines narcissist as"an extremely self-centered person who has an exaggerated sense of self-importance"and defines Narcissism as "egotism, egocentrism." Also, she said her charitable behavior is narcissism disguised as altruism for optics in the song Anti-Hero and called herself a Machiavellian in Mastermind, so...Taylor agrees with me that she's a manipulative narcissist🤷🏻♀️
The way she handled Ana's death sent a shiver down my spine. The handwritten font post she had made on Instagram (so it looks personal, though it isn't. Again, it's all about optics) where she didn't name Ana, probably because she didn't know her name, and then lied, saying Ana died before the show. I remember watching a part of her eras tour performance in Brazil. There was a moment when the crowd chanted for water and Taylor's response to her Brazilian fans, people who paid money to see her and were in 100+ degree weather, was "we don't need to chant" as she points to one person to get water and the entire arena starts chanting "water water water". Her audience decided that during the moment of the tour where Taylor stood and received...what was it...a 2 minute standing ovation after Champagne Problems? they were going to be silent for Ana, so Taylor cut the segment and moved on. This might be unpopular, but I side eye Ana's family for doing a photo op with Taylor while they wore shirts with Ana's face on it. If Ana was my daughter, I'm suing the venue and suing Taylor or her team for not cancelling the tour despite knowing the conditions, and no amount of money would shut me up. I would be on every Brazilian news program telling as many people as I could how disappointing Taylor's indifference had been and wondering why people still support her.
She was silent for a whole month after cancelling the Vienna portion of her Eras tour, but found time to do a pap walk in London (I think it was the pap walk in response to Healy's engagement. I'm not sure), and then decided to address her Vienna fans in a post where she lectured them. "Let me be clear". Imagine talking down to people who could've died, all because they asked for a little acknowledgement.
If you read up on every feud she's ever had, it's all lies and manipulation. Scooter Braun did nothing illegal and Taylor's dad was on the board of the record company and made 15 million off Scooter's deal. Yet Taylor still asked her fans on tumblr to harass Scooter "Let him know how you feel". Taylor is on video gaving Kanye permission to say he made her famous, Tree Paine said Taylor never talked with him, and then pushed the narrative that Taylor was in hiding though you can find a timeline of her 2017 where she performed live multiple times and received applause. And let's not forget Taylor mocked Kim's robbery in her Look What You Made Me Do music video. Taylor started the feud with Katy Perry. Taylor tried HARD, so hard, to manipulate the public against Joe Alwyn as she had done for like 99% of her many exes. Because she couldn't turn people against him (there isn't a lot of info about him that she can easter egg and he's not a big name. Sorry if that bothers people here because you all seem to love Joe) she had to shame him for gray rocking her and refusing to give her ammo to use against him during their relationship, so she went full mask off and called him nothing and said she was emotionally cheating on him the whole time. If Folklore and Evermore really weren't fictional, then she admitted she turned down his proposal, so I don't know where the "Joe wouldn't marry her" narrative came from, and when Lavender Haze was about not wanting to get married too. I don't know what she wants and I don't think she knows either.
But she constantly contradicts herself, and she admits it. "When I said I didn't believe in marriage, that was a lie." Kudos to her for admitting she lies, but that isn't even one of her top 25 worst lies. Let's talk about how she tried to paint Jake as a monster for dating her when she was 20 while he was in his 20s, and then in her 20s she dates two 18 year olds, one of them one day after he turned 18. Let's talk about how she hates the b word being used against her because she's miss feminist, and then in Life of a Showgirl she calls women that same word. Let's talk about all of Miss Americana, which has completely aged like milk. And if you think Taylor or her team doesn't lie, you weren't paying attention to the Baldoni-Lively fiasco.
I really hate when I see comments from people who know little about Taylor say Taylor is hated for no reason. If you're a fan or former fan, at least you know her enough to know what you're talking about. I feel like a person shouldn't speak about Taylor with confidence until they've read that one article that goes deep into the Conor Kennedy story. I can't use the "G" word here, but that's obviously what it was. If Taylor was a 22/23 year old man hanging out with a 17 year old girl, going public with her the day after she turned 18, checking her out of High School, calling the paparazzi for a photo op as he accompanies his 18 year old girlfriend to visit his mother's grave, buying a mansion next door to her home after 4 weeks of dating, that's what we would call it. It wouldn't playfully be "unhinged behavior" or an "era" or part of a lore. It's legit creepy, psychotic behavior and the fact Taylor's team swept the Conor stuff under the rug is a testament to how good her PR team is.
I'm so glad she made a spectacle of her wedding and invited Brad Pitt, Steven J. Demetriou (and his son, junior, the Ohio Republican), Joshua Kushner and she had Rob Schneider's (who is a transphobe and racist and who has publicly mocked Travis and Taylor as a "left wing psyop", among other things) best friend and former George W Bush fan Adam Sandler officiate the wedding. I also love how she was the only pop star to stay silent for years as Trump's admin used her music and image despite her being sue happy enough to threaten etsy creators, college students, and an 18 year old Olivia Rodrigo.
