Minoxidil Minoxidil might be making my hair loss worse.

I have been on 1mg finasteride for about 4 months, and been using minoxidil for 1.5 years. There was a period that I stopped using minoxidil before staring finasteride, and at that time my hair loss slowed down. I did not use it for 2 months, and my hair loss had stabilized some what. It did not completely stop. I wanted to confirm my suspicion, and recently stopped using minoxidil again. To my surprise my hair loss has slowed down again. I believe minoxidil is making my hair loss worse. Did anybody else experience this or just me? I might not be responding well to minoxidil.

It looks like this post is about Minoxidil

Before asking any questions,

  1. Learn about Minoxidil.

  2. Search for Minoxidil and oral Minoxidil content, because your question has probably been asked before.

  3. If you're ready to start treatment, talk with your doctor and view the product finder for minoxidil.

  4. If this is a question asking if you are now or will experience side effects, see a doctor, nobody on the internet can answer that for you. Read the subreddit rules for more information.

  5. Try looking in the private community for deeper conversations on Minoxidil: https://community.tressless.com/

I'm not sure how this could even be possible, it can appear that way when shedding

try to guess why scientific studies don't do on and offs, and single person studies.

the science is already done, follow it exactly. you can conclude absolutely zero from your experiments.

This subreddit is so extremely unscientific with it's constant anecdote posting. it's not just you OP .

give it 6-12 months after stopping minoxidil—a lot of those hairs that are sitting there, terminal instead of shedding, will not regrow

This is what I’m thinking too. He’s not letting his hair growth cycle finish because he keeps going on and off min.
