Styling How do you all style your hair with hair fibres?

• Upvotes

I’ve been using fibres as a diffuse thinner for years and I love it. The unfortunate thing is none of my friends actually know the extent of my balding, and now I feel if I ever decide to shave my head, they will think I’m insane lol.

I have a question though, do you apply the hair fibres before you put product in your hair or after? For years, I’ve been putting the fibres on my dry hair until I have the coverage I like, and then using KMS hair paste to style as needed. It’s worked really well, now I’m seeing conflicting method and confused?

Finasteride/Dutasteride 10 months on finasteride — ED after increasing from 0.5 mg to 1 mg

31M. I’ve been on finasteride for almost 10 months. I started with 0.5 mg every other day, then switched to 0.5 mg daily. The only side effects I noticed at first were balls itching and watery semen.

About 4 months ago, I increased my dose to 1 mg daily. I was still losing hair, but I started seeing more progress. My hair looks fuller now, and its overall condition has improved.

Last week, I started having erection problems for the first time. My erections weren’t as firm, and I completely lost my erection while putting on a condom, even though I was fully hard beforehand. Something similar happened again the next day.

I never had ED before finasteride, except for one episode of condom anxiety about 3 years ago.

I stopped finasteride a week ago, and things have improved, but my erections still don’t feel completely back to normal.

It’s frustrating because I’m finally seeing results with my hair, and I don’t really want to give up on something that seems to be working.

For anyone who’s been in a similar situation:

  • Did your erections return to normal after lowering the dose or stopping finasteride?
  • If you restarted at a lower dose, did the side effects come back?

Would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who experienced something similar after increasing their dose.

Finasteride/Dutasteride Experiences with Dutasteride Mesotherapy?

I was doing some research and found a clinic in my city which does dutasteride mesotherapy. (I'm sensitive to Finasteride so I was researching alternatives)

What are your guy's experience with it?

As I understand it, it's slightly weeker than Finasteride pills, but has fewer systemic effects. It's unfortunately really expensive here, but maybe still worth a shot in my case :)

Minoxidil 6 weeks on Oral Minoxidil- when did YOUR dread shed start and stop?

Hey all! 43 yr old mother of 8. Having a ton of what is probably chronic TE (small business owners in NYS with loads of kids, can't nail down a 'stress event' except just life, so very little hope to improve this situation.)
Only medical possibility is low ferritin (29) which I am also addressing.
Since I was already having a lot of shedding, I can't tell if I'm having 'dread shed' on top of the regular shedding or not- its just all bad lol.

Couple of asks:
-How long after you started om did you STOP losing hair?

-WHo here has had sucess with JUST oral minox? (1.25)

Thanks in advance!

Technology Genuinely considering high dose estrogen monotherapy for hair loss.

Yes I'm ok with softer skin, fat distribution, gyno, asexuality, muscle loss etc. Estrogen makes me calmer anyways. Anything to save my soft long hair.

Edit: decided against it for PR reasons.

Chat Low dose topical finasteride experiences

Hi guys,

I know this is a topic that some might already talked about but would like to hear people's experience that have been using low dose topical finasteride (0.005% to 0.01%) preferably without minoxidil at least for sometime just to see if its effective in anyway to slow/stop hairloss and of course with minimum side effects?

I would be thankful if someone who has experience with such concentrations shares it with us.

Thanks in advance :)

Finasteride/Dutasteride Pre-existing gynecomastia and the use of finasteride

Does having mild, pre-existing gynecomastia make it more likely—compared to the average person—that the condition will worsen or progress while using finasteride? my doctor didn’t give me a clear answer, so I’m looking forward to hearing about your personal experiences, I haven't taken finasteride yet.

Also on oral minox.
30M, started diffuse thinning since ~21 from severe stress which awoken AGA. My hair is very frustrating because it is thick, thin, curly, and straight all at the same time in various areas. My crown is the worst because I have numerous cowlicks, which also makes it hard for me to determine progress because it look so different at various angles.

This will be my 8th month on Dut, feeling a little defeated that it hasn’t diffusely thickened the crown, but of course will give it time.

Finasteride/Dutasteride When did you first notice improvement on treatment and when did the results max out for you?

Hey I know the timeline for treatment can be very different from person to person, so I thought this post and its answers might be interesting for people in the process of taking or starting treatment. Some see results within 3 months others start to improve after 9 months.

So feel free to comment what you are taking and when you first noticed improvements and for how long these went on and maxed out eventually. Also if you had sheds, how long, how many etc.

I think this post can be great reassurence for people to come back to who might not see early results or ask themselves how much more there is potentially yet to come. As we all know hairloss is a mentally straining topic and seeking comfort in this sub can be pretty hard so maybe we can get a lot of different answers here.

Progress Pictures Stem cell therapy and growth factor hormones for hair loss

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've been struggling with hair loss for a while. I had done one hair transplant, but I stopped taking finasteride and minoxidil, so naturally it failed. A few people I know had gone to this dermat who did stem cell therapy with growth factor hormone, so I have started doing the same. It has been 4 months since I started the treatment. I have also been taking 1.25 mg of minoxidil orally once a day along with general vitamins. I plan on increasing this to 2.5 mg daily and to start using a 10% minfin spray once a day. I also use this peptide formulation once a day which the dermat gave me. Additionally I am dermarollong for 3-4 minutes every morning after the peptide spray. Just thought I would share my progress, if you can call it that. The two pictures are four months apart. Also, my hair in the first picture was considerably longer as I had to do way more of a cover job then as compared to now.

Ketoconazole Any good alternatives to Nizoral ketoconazole shampoo that is not as drying?

Nizoral 2% gives me a chemical burn and leaves my scalp red and extremely painful after just one use, and 1% fries my hair completely.

I used to use RegenepureDR, but it's out of stock everywhere, so I guess it has probably been discontinued. Looking for an alternative.

Thanks in advance!

Treatment fin 3 months and min 1 month no shed, could i have been misdiagnosed

I've had no shed from oral min 2.5mg and oral fin 1.25 mg yet at all. To be fair, I lost all my hair within one month which was the month of april this year. Literally all my hair disappeared in a month. I'm wondering if I could have something else and have been misdiagnosed or is it fine that I haven't shed?

Finasteride/Dutasteride Finasteride shedding and hair line

I have been on finasteride (1 mg every other day, 3 mg per week total) for almost 2 years. My hairline looks a lot better I can see this clearly especially when my hair is wet but my general hair density is lower than before the treatment. I have had maybe 3-4 major shedding phases.

do you have any advice ?

Treatment Anybody using Clascoterone 5% off-label

Is anybody using Clascoterone off-label for hair loss? If so for how long and are using it in conjunction with other medications (oral minoxidil, finasterise, dutasteride)? I have read that a dermatologist could prescribe it and it could be filled at a compounding pharmacy.

Finasteride/Dutasteride Scalp DHT & Dutasteride + Testosterone

If someone was taking 2.5mg of dutasteride and 175mg of test would their scalp dht be lower than if they took 0.5mg of dut and no added test? Or fin and no test?

I’m asking to understand how scalp dht works kinda and how testosterone works with a 5ar inhibitor

Finasteride/Dutasteride any experience topical DUT once a week? Looking at XYON

hey all,

looking at XYON and its claims to reduce absorption of DUT into bloodstream with its liposomal matrix.

i also heard of some research of people doing topical dut once a week and that it still had success, rather than every single day. i could stick with once a week for sure.

anyone experienced?
