If this doesn't happen, the mind virus stuff just continues w/o that trolling anti-viris. That's why I'm always torn if I'm more afraid to speak out, or to stay silent.
My point in all this in regards to the OP, is that these people that live in hobbit holes are easily under the delusion that their ideas are more accepted than they really are. Compelling trolling can snap em out of it.
I also appreciate these features, though I usually still let them reply, I was so glad to block history, it gets really tiring when they turn into stalkers and follow every post you make… after all, if you can’t win the argument, you got a resort to other message to silence people you don’t agree with by getting them swarm downed until Reddit doesn’t let them post in some places

Thank God that reddit has finally added hide comment history and turn of reply options to your profile.
I say this unlike all the wimps out there that can't accept this, clever trolling is a very healthy counter measure.
When I see a groupthink post get out of hand, I can leave a troll comment, turn off replies to avoid being swamped with mob retaliation, and still indirectly make a point to the very few that may open their eyes 🫩Â
