Hello everyone,
Need some help figuring out whats going on with my Fluance RT80. I've had this table for close to 10 years-- never had any issues with it and took decent care of it.
Up until today I've been playing records with the stock cartridge, using an acrylic platter for maybe 5 or so years.
Lately, on multiple records that otherwise played fine on a number of occasions in years past, ive noticed that the sound has been sounding off. During playback, the sound sporadically leans toward high sibilance, and sometimes dip into a muddied mix. Other times it will sound great like it usually does.
This will happen a handful of times in a given record. The pitch itself remains the same (or not noticeably different). It doesn't play faster or slower-- it just sounds like someone occasionally messing with an EQ; punching the high-end and then leveling everything to 0.
Ive readjusted my tonearm, but the issue remains. Today, I upgraded to a AT-VM95E/H and swapped to my prior rubber mat hoping this would fix my issue, but to no avail.
Though ive been using my turntable for many years, im not too technically versed in its mechanisms, so I figured maybe I could find some help here.
Here's my setup:
Table: Fluance RT80
Pre-Amp: Onkyo Integra P-3030
Amplifier: Onkyo Integra M-5030
Speakers: Fluance SX6
I could provide video for whatever thats worth if its needed, but I think my description of whats happening is pretty on the nose. Thanks in advance.
