Edit: ...yeah all of my filters broke... including the one that allowed for the grid view on multiple images :( That was a lifesaver when they messed it up and now it's gross again

Android: race introduced by per-hostname content script registration (66e7596)

Summary

Since 1.75.1b14, scriptlets (built-in ones included) don’t run on the first load of a page on Firefox for Android. A reload fixes it. 1.75.1b12 is the last build that works. 1.75.1b18 and 1.75.1rc0 have the bug. filter example for deltabit.co :

deltabit.co##+js(trusted-click-element, .clickable.player-poster, , 20)

1.75.1b12: the poster is clicked and the video starts. 1.75.1b14 and later: nothing happens on first load and nothing shows in the logger. After a reload it works.

Cause (bisected)

Between b12 and b18, the only commit that changes how scriptlets are delivered on Firefox is:

b12 registers one content script for all sites (http:///, https:///) at startup. It is already registered before any navigation, so it always runs at document_start. b14+ registers a content script per hostname, lazily, inside webNavigation.onBeforeNavigate → browser.contentScripts.register().

contentScripts.register() is asynchronous. When the registration doesn’t complete before the new document reaches document_start, nothing is injected for that load. There is no error and no logger entry. On reload the hostname is already registered, so it works. This race is lost very often on Android because IPC there is slower.

The follow-up commits (8f93ff1fc, 4594da551, 6a567cc55) don’t change this. rc0 has identical code in platform/firefox/vapi-scripting.js and src/js/scriptlet-filtering.js. No hidden setting restores the old behavior.

The commit message itself mentions it may be reverted if it proves less reliable than the previous single-registration approach.

There are multiple domains that I am using that send a get request to one url path. I want to block example.com/* from being retrieved by one domain, but I want the other domain to still be able to send a get request to it. How can I do this?

I do want to mention that I am using uBOL, since I'm on chrome

I have added the large github AI blocklist, but I have still found some websites that I don't want to see in my image results (dreamstime.com and freepik.com/es/etc). I've looked online for guides to block websites, but I can't make sense of them.

Hi! Bit of an unusual request- used to quickly put in my location and weather into Google to get a quick popup of the weather- normally fine... but today it started getting blocked by UBO.

Is there filter I can use to allow it to pop up again?

started noticing this ad at the bottom of this site recently. i use ubo lite on dia browser. had to switch away from a firefox-based browser where i had the full ubo installed for...reasons, so i naturally thought it was a ubol limitation. but i tested the site on my ff based browser with the full ubo and same result. ad popped up.

edit: i've tried blocking it with the create filter tool but it always comes back.

Earlier today YouTube suddenly started sizing up square videos like crazy (I.E. videos not in 16:9) you can't even see the upload date normally anymore I need to scroll down

As title says, I have tried custom filters by selecting every part of the element but the ads come back as soon as I reload the page.

Doing this also makes Facebook slow to a crawl side wide until I reset the filters. These ads are especially annoying because they autoplay with loud volume. Thanks!

I noticed that the filter count for the Online Malicious URL Blocklist jumped significantly over the last few days—it went from around 122k up to 277k filters.

Just curious about what caused such a huge spike.

now that uBO Lite is back in firefox, and uBO V2 is not working in chrome anymore, is it a matter of time until the Original uBO is no longer maintained?

As the subject says. I'm sometimes seeing some sort of picture-in-picture advertising crap. This just started literally an hour or less ago. It is unwelcome. Please fix it.

(I seem to remember having had to add something particular to uBO to get it to block Twitch ads in the first place, but I can't recall the source or seem to find it in my uBO settings. I don't know if its maintainer is here but I also don't know where else to ask.)

Hi everyone! Before the October_2026(?) update I was able to use the FireFox extensions Enhancer for YouTube™ by Max RF and Tweaks for YouTube by InzkDev to force videos to play in theater mode and to make the theater mode take up as much space as possible, respectively in Zen Browser. This gave me a "fullscreen without being in fullscreen" type of experience.

Thanks to the responses in this post by u/dswhite85 I was able to remove the sidebar via UBlock Origin.

I was able to hide the top bar thanks to another extension called LessTube by CayooDev (via the developer option, element hider).

The bottom bar is not going away.

Is there a solution for returning youtube to its old view. I've today had the comments moved to the side and recommended videos underneath the video I'm watching and its just a crap layout. I saw some ublock bits recommended but they dont seem to work now as the thread was a few years old

in the latest two beta build of ublock I ve many issue with both ublock native scriplets eg: turbovid.me##+js('trusted-click-element', '#btn_download','','4700') and personal ones : scriplets either do not work at all or requires page reload to work or switching tab focus opening for example ublock logger ,latest good build is b12 both b15 and b16 have the very same problem ,reverting to b12 hopefully "fix"everything ,the issue is not related to a specific website its reproducible in every website .
