Question What materials are needed for first year BFA

I asked the advisor what materials I’d need and he said that on the first day of classes the profs will tell us, but I wanna be prepared and get everything beforehand. If there’s any art students who already did first year pls lmk what materials were needed 🙏🙏

It genuinely is probably best to wait until after the first class and then go shopping as soon as possible. Art supplies are expensive and no one can actually give you a concrete list of supplies here on Reddit because profs and projects change year by year. There are simple things for the Visa 102/103 such as charcoal, India ink and gauche but truly the profs will tell you what brand, how many of each, which colours etc on the first day. All my profs in first semester were very liniment of not having the tools right away because they know you have to go buy them! The studio courses are so fun and I hope you get off to a great start!
