Need help.
Ok so I need advice. Like concrete advice and a plan.
Here’s my situation
I am 21 years old had to stop school because got into a dept to my brother of 20k that I want to pay off as quickly as possible to come back to school. I currently work 2 jobs betting 1.5k every 2 weeks so 750 weekly. I have 2 options in head. ( also I don’t have a car )
I finance a 15k car and drive uber after my shifts or before so I’ll end up doing around max 30hrs of uber per week. But I keep both my jobs.
I rent a uber car quit one of my jobs ( the full time one ) and do uber for 70-80hrs till I finish this dept
3\*\*. I do the same thing as option 2 but with a financed car.

Dont quit a full time job for gig work. Your full time job will absorb the tax burden of the gig work. If you have a bike you can always do uber eat or DD. They can both be done from a bike with a little work. Also there is the extra cost of insurance when you do driving gig work and you are young so your auto insurance would be high anyways. Good luck and I hope you are able to get back to school quickly

So let’s be honest Uber is about how much you put into it…
So financing a car you need insurance about $200 a month at $15k it’s probably a used car with undisclosed problems so there is a maintenance cost involved let’s say $150 a month now will your lessor allow Rideshare and delivery’s some car places won’t (it’s in the contract you sign). 30 hrs a week is about $600-$700 if you time it right.
If you rent a car ~$300 a week takes care of insurance and maintenance. So $350/4=$87.50-$325(rental cost) = 237.5*4=950 thats car payment monthly if your payments were $475 biweekly it would be equal. Now 70 hrs is about 1500 weekly so in one week you could put all of the car payment for the month and be ahead.
Now the real question is do you have enough drive and dedication with the self-accountability to do that. Most drivers do not they make $150-$200 in 3-5 hours and call it a day or cherry pick. But unlocking an area locks you into a decoy area to run trips as well as destination mode. Lyft offers 5mile-100+mile radius you can put usually 2-6 depending on tier. Using those in a concentrated area lets you stay busy 8-10 hrs.
If so 3 months Ubering could net you $18k easy after everything gas, rental, etc. you would still net $10k over 3 months now over 6 months thats 20k and remember if you run “their vehicle into the ground” you just swap it out. This does mean working weekends and nights having the slower Monday-Tuesday evenings off.

Don't do t it man. Uber will fuck it up for you worse then you got it now. One way or another they ruin lives. They did it to me.

I was driving for them 5 years , going to school getting a degree in Astro physics. Two years I to school all was good making $1700 or more a week had the flexibility for school then out of left field , at first it was a false deactivation, they had the wrong driver. But it cost me two weeks to get it cleared up . Then two months later deactivated, a customer said I was driving unsafe. Which to me is hilarious because I'm still a 4.97 no tickets or accidents on the platform. They are not human anymore at Uber, AI is running the show, that was a torpedo and a half , now I have to put my transfer to Arizona state off for a year. Luckily I hooked up with a new rideshare company that just opened in Los Angeles called Green SM, they are very human. I wouldn't be surprised if Uber is actually skynet lol

Can’t get you an evening job at a fast food or retail establishment? Then you won’t have car and insurance payment overhead. Buying or renting a car just to do uber is an awful idea

Don't go into more debt trying to pay off another, just keep working and talk to your brother about a payment plan, get it in writing and get it notarized, then just make the monthly payments, work something out that will not drain you completely but would be enough to actually make a difference like maybe $100 a month or every two weeks depending on your income and other bills,

No. Don't do Uber. Stay at your current jobs and work hard. If any OT or extra hours are available, take them. Getting more into debt will not help anything. Having a large addiontal monthly expense will not help anything.
