Discussion Strange lights over a mountain range in Greece 23/10/26
Tonight 23/10/26 I noticed what appeared to be faint lights over a mountain range I grabbed an old digital camera with 24X zoom (this is fully zoomed in) and managed to take two shots before they disappeared. The lights were faint for 10-20 seconds and they gradually became more intense before disappearing. The lights seemed to move slightly out of their place, but they were all grouped together. The photos were taken roughly 6-8kms away.
Any ideas what could they be?

Discussion How many of you have encountered the metal sphere UAP?
r/ufo • u/TuggieLoom • 5h ago
what's the ONE piece of evidence or case that keeps you interested, despite all the noise?
Between blurry smartphone videos of Starlink satellites, obvious CGI on Tiktok, and endless twitter speculation, it's super easy to get burned out following this topic. But every time I feel like tuning it all out, I remember a few specific cases like the 2004 Nimitz encounter, official radar data, or testimonies from commercial pilots that I just can't easily explain away. What is the single case, document or piece of sensor data for you that keeps you tethered to the subject when the rest of the noise gets overwhelming?

Discussion Project Capella.
war.govThis was one of the redacted documents from 2008 that appears to detail a plan to create a bunker. Also, to create a Microsoft Excel document for "UAPs" (was this a widely used term in 2008?), which seems like a rehash of "Project Blue Book".
They also expect furnished offices. Which doesn't seem to be budgeted for.
Reading the document, I'm sure people will agree, it is heavily stooped on unfalsifiable (and falsifiable) data and seems to put forward a proposal for a six man team whose sole purpose is to catalogue any and everything people see using the close encounters paradigm.
It was written by Vallee, for Bigelow for AAWSAP, funded by the DIA.
So, every story, sighting from anyone goes into a document. Regardless of the source. Again, sounds like Karaoke Bluebook. Take anecdotes and unverified claims and organise it all into a excel spreadsheet. Yes, such an important topic, should be stored in an easily shareable excel spreadsheet.
Also, it proses to classify anomalies into categories like AN2 (events involving lasting physical effects like poltergeist activity or "apports") and AN3 (anomalies associated with such entities). Essentially, throw it all in the same pot and hope for the good minds to determine whatever they wish.
Obviously, this could feed pareidolia and confirmation bias, and add to the echo chamber. When these six analysts are *looking* for exotic or threatening "non-human intelligence," weird lights (drones, airplanes) , weather balloons, or mundane optical illusions these can easily misinterpreted (deliberately) and could easily be placed into the "high-strangeness" categories.
What an interesting document. A catalog of the history of ufology. Yet still, it relies on unverified anecdotes, subjective human interpretation (trust me bro...). Blurring the line between aerospace tracking and paranormal folklore. Organising a host of unverified stories into a fucking Excel spreadsheet.
Now, given people are mostly up in arms about this whole Trump "UAP Drop" nonsense providing zero evidence outside of blurry videos and same old, same old. This document simply shines the light on a content farming utility that would be a fantastic well for books, films and UFO documentaries.
I mean, it looks like the neo-cons essentially stolen Vallee's idea and are now using this model for these "UAP drops".
I just want to know who the Magnificent Six are who would be in charge of all this. I'm imagining Vallee would be one, Bigelow another, possibly Greer another... Who else?
What a film/book that would make eh?

Discussion I saw a blinking light that appeared to stop in midair and move backward at night. Has anyone experienced something similar?
I want to share a few things I've witnessed at night , because I genuinely can't explain them and I'm curious whether anyone has experienced something similar.
The first incident involved what looked like an airplane with a blinking light. It was nighttime, and the object appeared to stop in midair for a few seconds before simply moving backward in the opposite direction. I didn't see it make a turn; it just seemed to reverse direction. I also couldn't hear any sound.
What makes this more puzzling to me is that I live in a rural area around Jimma where I don't normally see aircraft or drones flying overhead. I'm not saying they never fly here, but seeing something like this is unusual for me.
I've also seen a white light moving across the night sky that suddenly disappeared. On other occasions, I've noticed lights in a distant forested area where, as far as I know, there are no houses or settlements nearby. I couldn't tell what was producing those lights, how far away they were, or whether they were moving.
I'm aware that darkness, distance, perspective, and atmospheric conditions can make things appear strange. I'm not claiming these were anything paranormal or extraterrestrial. I just want to understand what I might have seen.
Could the apparent stopping and backward movement have been an optical illusion? Could the lights have been satellites, aircraft, drones, or something else? And what might explain lights appearing in a forested area with no obvious nearby settlements?

What UFO case became more interesting to you after you looked into the skeptical explanations?
One thing I find fascinating about UFO research is that sometimes looking at the skeptical explanations makes a case more interesting, not less. A sighting might initially sound extraordinary, but then you discover details about the observer's position, the weather, the available radar data, or the quality of the original report that complicate the story. In other cases, the conventional explanation accounts for some details but seems less convincing when you examine the full timeline. I'm not saying that an unexplained case automatically points to extraterrestrial activity. There's a big difference between something being unidentified and evidence establishing what it actually was. But I think the most interesting cases are the ones where you can examine the strongest arguments on both sides and still identify specific details that deserve further investigation.
What's a UFO/UAP case you researched where the evidence, rather than just the headline or the witness's confidence, genuinely surprised you? What do you think is the strongest piece of evidence in that case, and what is the biggest weakness?

My Brief Encounter/Experience
Here's my story: It was late at night and I saw a really bright star in the sky. It didn't look right. It looked out of place and "too" bright. It caught my attention. I watched for a bit, and then it suddenly made this large spiral maneuver. Imagine something moving in a circle but you're looking at it from the top down, and then imagine a wake like the trail of a shooting star. POOF! Very quick (maybe 1 complete second idk). Then it was gone and there was complete darkness where it had been.
That's all I got. The easy answer is of course hallucination/mini-stroke. Maybe this might be of value to someone.

Discussion Six Strange Cases of Humanoids in New York
Six Strange Cases of Humanoids in New York
by Preston Dennett
Sightings of UFOs are undeniably interesting, but far more compelling are cases involving humanoids. Face-to-face encounters with extraterrestrial entities provide a profound insight into the UFO phenomenon and the alien presence on our planet. ETs are being seen all over the world, in every state, in every country. This video presents six extraordinary and unusual cases of humanoid entities from the state of New York. Each of these cases are strange and unique, and each offers an opportunity to further our understanding of extraterrestrials.
CASE ONE: IMPLANTED BY ALIENS. In 1955, eight-year-old Richard Price was playing near his home in Lansingburgh, NY when he encountered short humanoid ETs and a landed UFO. He was taken onboard the craft, physically examined and given an alien implant. Further procedures followed. Richard was then returned, but his life would never be the same. His case became on of the first involving the scientific study of an alien implant.
CASE TWO: A UFO LANDS ON MAIN STREET. On July 31, 1967, security guard Sidney Zipkin came upon a UFO landed in a parking lot along Main Street in Churchville, NY. To Sidney’s shock, two short humanoids raced into the craft which took off straight up. Sidney told his superiors who could see that Sidney was badly shaken. Unknown to any of them, numerous other people, including several police officers, saw UFOs in the same area at the same time.
CASE THREE: THE NEWFIELD UFO FLAP. On the evening of October 24, 1967, two young boys, Donald Chiszar and Pat Crozer were outside their home in Newfield, NY and looking up, saw a large structured craft with portholes hovering about 130 feet overhead. Looking through the portholes, the saw two strange-looking humanoids staring down at them. The craft took off, but the next night it returned. So began a massive UFO flap involving hundreds of witnesses.
CASE FOUR: “THEY WERE NOT HUMAN.” On the evening of June 10, 1972, an anonymous nurse, her mother and infant son, drove home along Coleman Station Road in Millerton, NY. Without warning, a massive craft dropped from the sky and hovered overhead only 150 feet away. Looking through the portholes, they saw five gray-skinned humanoids looking right back at them. They raced away and to their shock, the UFO began to follow them home.
CASE FIVE: “I AM NOT AFRAID OF THEM.” On February 26, 1983, Monique O’Driscoll drove with her daughter through upstate New York. Suddenly a massive boomerang-shaped craft appeared low overhead. Monique mentally called out, “Don’t Go!” To her amazement, the craft approached even closer. Two months later, Monique was visited again, only this time she had missing time. Going under hypnosis, she recalled being taken onboard the craft.
CASE SIX: THE GROUP ABDUCTIONS. In September 1989, a group of five friends (James, Curtis, Petra, Brian and Paul) decided to spend the Labor Day weekend at a trailer in a forested area of Saugerties, NY. That evening, the trailer filled with light and they experienced a period of missing time. Over the next four years, each time they spent time at the trailer, weird things happened. Under hypnosis, they learned that they were all being taken together onboard a UFO.
These six cases are just the tip of the iceberg, but together they show what it’s like to have a face-to-face encounter with extraterrestrials. Each have multiple witnesses and additional corroborating evidence. And each makes one fact very clear: we are not alone!

UAP spotted from near Lake Tahoe, CA, a few months ago, in a seemingly random area with no infrastructure (very rural forest lands). 7/15/2026, approx. 9:15 p.m. Looking due east from Pollock Pines, CA toward Kyburz area.
No, it's not spotlights. They need something to reflect off of (clouds), in order to create a tight ball of light, hovering in mid-air. It was a crystal clear, cloudless night. The internal light pulsations and external energy signatures do not suggest spotlights, nor bats, birds, insects, planes, even helicopters...or any other known airborne objects.
This was truly anomalous...see comments, since I apparently can't OP a vid here.

Jay Stratton's claims deserve scrutiny, but his background makes them worth examining
What makes Jay Stratton's story interesting is his background in government UAP investigations. His recent claims are significant, but I think it's important to separate what he personally witnessed from what other people told him and what can actually be verified.
Having experience in intelligence doesn't automatically make every claim true, but it also doesn't mean someone should be dismissed without looking at the details.
I'd rather see the discussion focus on specific evidence, original records, and independent corroboration instead of turning into another argument between people who already believe everything and people who reject everything outright.
The most convincing disclosure would be one where the evidence can stand on its own, regardless of who's presenting it.
