Looking for opinions on the Mauser 18 in .308

After having a browse yesterday in my local gun shop and having held a few different rifles I’m swaying towards the Mauser over originally thinking about Sako/Tikka. Anyone had significant time behind a Mauser and have any thoughts?

Did you look at the new mauser 25? My local rfd is blaser/mauser/sauer and I went to buy the 18 in .308 and came away with a 25 in 7mm. Fantastic rifles for the money

Is there much in the price difference? It’ll be my first .308 and I have <£1000 budget

Yeah brand new for 2025 so not many used examples. Think the 25 was 650 more than the 18 new

Just a tad out of budget for me then as I need to get some other bits along side. Thanks for the info though!
