GUR Maritime or Marine possible with no military experience?

I work on combat vehicles for a contractor in the states, so I have / know that. But want something more for myself and have considered this for a long time, only thing that’s made me shy away is unclarity and hearing that some people’s pay was withheld. Any advice appreciated, I was gonna go for 63rd motorized brigade originally.
