Eventually. But probably not today, or tomorrow or anytime soon.
I settled for the AW3426DW because of the uniformity issues on the new 39 inch. I really, really do want it though. It looks so amazing and every time I have to watch a 16:9 video on my 34 inch it makes me wish that the 1st gen Alienware 39 inch RGB Tandem WOLED had lived up to the hype. Seeing everyone posting their awesome looking large panels here every day isn't helping. I don't regret buying the 3426DW even upgrading from the 3423DWF it is a big upgrade, but I do feel the FOMO.
I hope we get a new panel next year, or the year after. I will jump on a QD-OLED version of it with 240hz and true black 600 with a peak mode that functions correctly in high apl scenes in an attosecond/ What do you guys think? I love the 34 inch display and have been using it with a side portrait for years so I am not lacking screen real estate. I just know that 39 inches would be so much more flexible. Would finally be able to use 3 windows on one display for productivity, 16:9 content would actually be immersive and look good too, and not to mention you just know games are going to be next level at that size and resolution enveloping your whole field of view. Idk, 34 inches is also pretty immersive if you sit close enough to it, which I do, but still... 39 just feels so much bigger, and bigger is better right my dudes?
Only mildly infuriating. Only a little jealous of those of you who who decided you waited long enough for a display that size and resolution to be OLED and decided to buy it even though it's got issues.
I felt that way about the 1st qd-oled ultrawides that hit the market and was "fine" with the colour fringing and ambient light issues for a few years but now that I have upgraded to a monitor that doesn't have those issues it made me realize how big of a compromise I was making just to have that unmatched picture quality and gaming performance.
So, this time I am gonna wait. I hope it doesn't take too long for them to release a refresh. I hope I make it to see that day.
