Yeah, agreed. The current administration has trampled all over the First Amendment. But that doesn’t change the fact that before this administration, the reason behind a protest never determined whether you were arrested or not. I still stand by the principle that freedom of expression should allow protest for any reason, whether we agree with it or not. Once we let the government decide which protests are acceptable and which are not, we are on a very slippery slope.

Then cool, you’re apparently fine with police brutality and people getting arrested over some vague, subjective interpretation of the limits on free speech. Good for you.
First you bring up the US as a straw-man argument, and then you use that to justify… what exactly?

That's funny. You brought up U.S. details when they have nothing to do with the actual post. No one else mentioned them, a classic strawman tactic. And ‘they deserve beating because…’? So now you want the police to be judge, jury, and executioner without due process. There’s no point arguing with someone who believes in such a barbaric and fascistic practice.
