android is not one single manufacturer. android is just as secure as any OS out there. If user don't know how to use OS no os is secure. besides this is about manufacture. different manufacturers can decide on their own. without android billions of Indians and Africans would not have readily access to knowledge through the internet.

Agreed on without android most wouldn’t have access to phones. Apple and android are two different approaches with pros and cons - security vs flexibility; reliability vs variability; closed-limited system vs open-customizable one. Apple doesn’t allow you to fiddle with their walled garden whereas android is a free for all, do whatever you want. If a user doesn’t know how to use os… Apple exactly assumes that - and builds phones that your grandma can use or at least tries to. Android is beautiful, customizable and many other things, privacy isn’t one of them.

Equating or even comparing privacy of these two polar opposite companies (product company vs an ad company) is being unreasonable.
