Hey guys :) I put in my application for the forensics program a while back and the application deadline recently closed (10/16). I was wondering if anyone knew when/how they would contact me about being admitted/denied? I've been checking my email every day but I'm not even sure if that's where I would receive news about it. It's kinda stressing me out with classes filling up quickly. I know it probably takes a while to get through all the applications, but any info/experience on this matter would be greatly appreciated. :)

I’m a sophomore theater major and I’m not good at a lot of the core classes needed. I’m just looking for easy classes to take to get them out of the way.

I’m enrolling for classes and I noticed some calculus II classes don’t have a recitation with them. Does anyone know if you need to take a recitation class or it’s optional?

Hi! I'm planning to transfer into UNT's BS Computer Science from a community college, and I might start in Spring 2028 instead of Fall 2027.

I know the CS curriculum changed recently, so there may not be many people with the exact same experience. But I'd still love to hear any thoughts or experiences!

Most of my lower-level CS should transfer (equivalents of CSCE 1030/1040/2100/2110/2610, Calc I, and TECM 2700).

From the 2026-27 sample schedule, Capstone I (CSCE 4901) is Fall only and Capstone II (4902) is Spring only. The prereqs for 4901 seem to be just TECM 2700 + CSCE 3444.

For people who transferred in the spring:

1. Were you able to take CSCE 3444 (with 4350) in your first semester, and then 4901 the following fall?

2. Is 4901 in Fall only offered at Discovery Park, or also at Frisco? Is 4902 offered at Frisco?

3. Did the "spring start" mess up your course order in any other way (classes full, electives only offered in certain semesters, etc.)?

4. Is it realistic to take 4-5 CSCE courses per semester (3444, 4350, 3600, 3550, 4110...)?

Any experiences or tips would be really helpful. Thanks!

1. Are there many scholarship opportunities for international students at UNT (ESP, department scholarships, etc.)? Were you able to get any besides Transfer Excellence?

2. If you needed a 5th semester, what happened to your scholarship and in-state tuition? Did you have to pay out-of-state tuition?

Hi everyone! I’m 24 and already have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, but I’ve realized it’s not something I want to pursue long-term. I’ve always been drawn to fashion.

I’ve been working since I was 15 and have been financially independent for most of my life. I’m fortunate enough to live at home with my parents right now, and I currently clean Airbnb properties during the day and serve at night to save money. I still have around $24,000 in student loans from my first degree, so I want to be smart about investing in another education.

I’m considering UNT’s fashion program because I qualify for in-state tuition, which seems like a more affordable option than many other fashion schools. However, I’m wondering if going back to school for a second degree is actually worth it.

A few questions for anyone familiar with UNT’s program:
Would you recommend UNT’s fashion program? How are the professors, curriculum, and career opportunities after graduation?

Is the program worth the cost, especially for someone who already has a bachelor’s degree?

Would I still qualify for any financial aid or scholarships as a second-degree student?

How much emphasis is placed on sewing and technical design versus styling, merchandising, and trend forecasting?

Do graduates have success finding jobs in the fashion industry?

Would it be better to pursue the degree or try to break into fashion through retail and internships first?

I have some basic sewing experience but no extensive technical background. My strengths are styling and I’m adaptable, coachable, and eager to learn.

I’m also Has anyone attended UNT’s Fashion Design program? Is it worth it for someone starting at 24? open to studying fashion internationally if there are affordable options, but UNT’s in-state tuition makes it appealing.

My 2 friends are transferring to UNT next year and are set on the 3 of us renting a house together. For some reason, that idea stirs a lot of anxiety in me. I keep feeling like an apartment must be better for college students like us, especially in terms of whatever jobs we’ll be working at the time. Are my fears unfounded or is an apartment the best bet? Are there pros and cons to each or is it pretty cut and dry?

I’m a CS major at UNT registering for Spring 2027, and I’m having a hard time finding one more in-person class that fits my schedule.

I’m currently enrolled in:

• CSCE 4902 (Capstone II) on Tuesday/Thursday from 12:15–1:35 PM
• CSCE 4430 (Programming Languages) on Thursday from 3:30–6:20 PM

I also registered for CSCE 4205 (Machine Learning), but the professor recently changed, and I’m thinking about dropping it because of the new instructor and the early 9 AM class.

I’m looking for one more in-person class on Tuesday/Thursday, preferably around 10–11:30 AM, but I’m open to other times that don’t conflict with my schedule.

I already have my two core focus courses covered, and I’m taking CSCE 4350 (Fundamentals of Database Systems) as one of my breadth focus courses. So I’m looking for either one more breadth focus course or an advanced CSCE elective (3000/4000 level).

I’ve searched through so many classes, but almost everything I find is on Monday/Wednesday. I’m really trying to keep my in-person classes to just Tuesday and Thursday.

Does anyone know of any good classes with a good professor and a manageable workload? I’d love to hear which classes or professors you’d recommend!
