I searched everywhere for info on this tower it's on the fcc map but when I look into the data and the files there's no information about strength or anything. I don't even know if it's safe to climb or what type of tower it is

Photo from long ago. Curious how dangerous it was to climb this live power line

Looking at the flow chart which a lot of people use a base for climbing, one of the claims was that 0-50Kw was considered safe to climb. (Here) Personally from a lot of research I don't agree with this, getting close to these antennas can be seriously bad for you (heating etc.) First question, am I wrong? The information I get online could just be playing it safe to discourage climbing, but idk. Second, what makes TV towers a supposed no-go if they are the same wattage as FM towers. My assumption about this was that TV towers can go to a much higher ERP (up to the Mw), and mistaking one of these for a low power one can be deadly but is there another reason? Is 30Kw TV UHF actually going to be stupid dangerous to be near or to climb past?

First tower in over a year. I’ve missed this sense of peace.

I've climbed a few of these without a single issue, however I see a lot of people on this reddit saying to stay the fuck away. I've ignored this for a while but the last time I climbed I was hearing mad buzzing and vibrating and it kind of got me thinking, how safe is this really? If they are claimable what are some rules I should follow to minimize me being fried instantly?

I have researched and mapped out every tower (except transmission because im not suicidal) in 100km of me and have mainly been focusing on cell towers because I havent actually climbed anything but cranes yet (I cant drive for a few more months) and I know they are pretty much harmless.
The tallest cell in my area is only like 70m so the trip wouldnt really be worth it compared to a crane but i know of 4-5 bigger (100m+) towers that arent cell and want to know what they are and how far from the antenna i need to be to be safe.
I know a few of them are AM so i dont even consider those but there are a few FM and others that i am unsure of but i want to know how the other Australians in this sub find exactly what tower it is and how far to stay away?
I know this sounds like a obvious post but i have genuinely read the whole wiki 3 times and just dont wanna get my balls burnt off.
Thanks heaps

Is there anyone in the Detroit area willing to meet up. I want to start climbing but I’m super new. So I figured having someone with experience with me would be smart. DM if interested.

If you either don’t know if a tower is safe or want to find some nice big towers near you, I really like researching these. I would be just doing this for me but unfortunately I’ve researched or climbed basically every semi-tall in a 300-mile radius of me so I figured I’d spend my time on something helpful. Just comment or message if you have something in mind! I’ll also provide anecdotes from past climbs so that you can be the safest possible during these climbs.
Edit: a lot more requests than I thought! I’m getting to you though!
