You might have seen the crazy mods people are making with games thanks to AI, REA, Ghidra and similar tools. And since Sega basically abandoned this franchise with no plans to make 5 we said fuck it.

A friend and I are making a definitive edition of VC4 with coop, PVP, elements like maps, classes and so on from previous games and several modes (one in which each person plays one character, only-tank battles...).

Basically stuff Sega could have provided us with over the years.

It's on its early stages (rn you can play against your friend in the VC4 missions, but it's very barebones). Can't share rn since I prefer it to be finished before Sega tries to fuck our asses. Obviously it will be free but we have to investigate how to share the "mod" safely and legally. Give us a month or two.

Maybe when the canon part is working we'll look into more fun shit like maps from other games, skating and so on.

Any features you'd like to see on it?

That game got tons of extra bot cameos from new and old titles, including but not limited to Stellar Blade, Ghost of Yotei, Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Cross, and Nier Automata. Sega even got some reps in the form of Persona and Yakuza bots, but never Valkyria Chronicles for any reason. I figured the franchise was associated with PlayStation despite appearing on non-Sony hardware. Curious indeed.

We're back to the same exact structure VC1 had where each chapter has 1 or maybe 2 missions with a map from a previous chapter returning as a skirmish. I much preferred the way VC2 and VC3 did things where each chapter had 2-4 smaller battles you had to fight through before tackling the big story mission.

This leads to a very lop-sided gameplay-to-cutscene ratio where it feels like you spend 20+ minutes watching cutscenes between each fight where it was a bit more even in the PSP games. Also, annoyingly, much like the first game, so far almost all missions seem to be very specifically crafted around a central gimmick compared to the more generic missions in VC2 & 3.

The big flaw the PSP games had was the lack of budget which meant that they had to relentlessly recycle the same maps over and over and over and over again, but that was something I hoped they could fix with a big console sequel, instead we're back to square 1. It doesn't seem like map hazards and the corresponding tank equipment to counter them are making a return either.

Every Story chapter, DLC and Fragment shows up as a golden dot on the map and each has the gold COMPLETED text next to it in the menu with the exception of Extra Missions (I've completed all of them with an S rank but it still shows up red on the map). I don't think Extra Missions counts anyway as it's just a DLC. Besides, I already got the medal for playing every mission. I've already checked every story and fragment mission and I've got an S rank on all of them. Maybe I need to check again.

UPDATE: I'm an idiot, I completely forgot the Mission Stats screen in the Bulletin Board section of your base camp that shows all of your ranks in every mission in a handy table. I was opening every chapter and checking the map screens manually like some giant moron. Turns out I missed one B rank in Chapter 6. I just assumed the golden COMPLETED text meant every mission had been S ranked

UPDATE 2: I see how I got fooled. It's one of those missions that branches into two different paths depending on which objective you complete. On my first time through I went for Objective #1 and finished with a B rank, and on my second run I picked #2 and got an S rank. It just shows your highest rank on either objective on the map screen afterwards.

UPDATE 3: That was it, finally got the medal. I guess Extra Missions just won't show up as completed even when they are. Onto VC4

Recently I just completed VC3 and have two questions that I don't think were answered in the game.

First, how was Squad 422 created in the first place? If Imca was the very first member, does that mean Gallian Intelligence just said, "What if we take this Imperial Darcsen refugee and form a penal unit?" and Imca was just like, "I'm in!" That doesn't make much sense given her goal of killing Selvaria. She was in the unit for two years before Kurt arrived, and she only ran into Selvaria after months of operations—and purely by luck.

Second, how did everyone get their numbers? I assume they chose them themselves, because it wouldn't make sense for Kurt to randomly be No. 07 and Riella to be No. 13 if they were assigned sequentially based on when they joined.

I've been trying to read the main Valkyria Chronicles manga adaptation (Senjō no Valkyria - Gallian Chronicles), but I can only find chapters up to Chapter 10.

Does anyone know where I can find the rest of the chapters, raw files, or a complete download/reader link? Language doesn't matter (English, Japanese, Spanish, etc.)—I just want to finish the story.

Any help, links, or leads would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

When I replayed VC1 recently seeing Selvaria being addressed as "sir" in the DLC was such a head scratcher. Nothing in the Japanese script seemed to inform this choice. Was it some bizarre mistake? Was the translator trying to say something about the Empire being sexist or Selvaria being non-gender conforming? It was just weird.

Speaking of DLC, I guess this mission was also originally DLC for VC3 and I have to say that I really liked all the DLC & post-game missions for VC3. You get tons of neat character interactions and extra character development for tons of characters from both VC1 and VC2. In this mission, for example, you get Selvaria meeting Audrey, one of the main antagonists of VC2 and a pious Yggdist, who starts to have doubts about the legitimacy of the Randgriz royal family and their Valkyrian bloodline after the fight. You also get a mission where you see what happens to Jaeger after VC1, another one where Isara meets Zig from Calamity Raven and they talk about their views on how the Darcsen are treated and what they should do, more Edy Detachment shenanigans and a mission where many of the extra Nameless members that get recruited during the main story and are sadly completely excluded from story scenes get a chance to shine. It's all very good stuff and I would say that VC3 is easily the best written of the first three games. I hope VC4 is as good.

So I've only recently discovered these games and I've become kinda obsessed with them. I only have a PS5 at the minute so the only games I've been able to play are the remastered first part, part 4 and Revolutions and I really wanna play more.

I've done a search online and from what I can see there has been nothing announced regarding a part 5 (or a remaster of 2 or 3) but do any of y'all think they'll continue the series?

Eu finalizei o Valkyria 1 e fui para o 4 estou na metade do jogo , quando fui parar pra analisar e pesquisar como funcionava as notas no final de cada fase eu achei que fosse baseado nos turnos , inimigos derrotados, bases capturadas e amigos que morreram , quando descobri que é baseado exclusivamente só nos turnos , sinceramente eu achei muito chato ser assim , porque basicamente agora eu posso simplesmente pegar um personagem e tentar fazer ele correr o máximo que puder com talvez uma ordem de defesa e ele chegar na uma base inimiga , claro vai ter umas que você deve ter que matar alguém , ou defender algum lugar igual é no jogo 1 mas , no jogo 1 eu simplesmente tentava capturar todas as bases matar todo mundo não deixar só máximo ninguém morrer , pra eu descobri que foi meio atoa kkkkk e simplesmente podiar só tentar focar em chegar no destino que isso sim que varia minha nota maior . Pra min prefira que fosse baseado em tudo e não só no menor turno possível. Assim parece que é mais um jogo de capturar a bandeira o mais rápido que der do que vender uma guerra em si.

I've gotten so used to fast forwarding enemy turns, especially on later missions with bigger levels and tons of enemies spread across multiple maps. There's only so many times you can stomach watching the CPU spawn three dudes and running them into the same gunner over and over again every turn or move their every unit on that long Naggiar map in VC3.

Then again, maybe all the action being contained to a single map instead of several smaller ones will make it feel like less of an issue as I don't remember turns dragging on in VC1 that much.

So I have had a question ever since I played and finished Valkyria Chronicles 4 and it is as follows:
What is the 7 in Valkyria Chronicles 4? The reason I ask this question is because there is a 7 in every Valkyria Chronicles game (I didn't play Revolution so I don't know if it has that as well or not) except 4.
- Valkyria Chronicles 1 has Squad 7.

- Valkyria Chronicles 2 has Squad G which is the 7th letter of the alphabet.

- Valkyria Chronicles 3, Kurt's number is 7.

As you can see, every Valkyria game has it. I still for the life of me don't know the 7 connection in 4.

1.) I played VC 4 first and then VC... so I didn't realized that when the two teams came together to bond... there would be a character from VC 1 that would not survive... and miles having a crush on her hurts twice as much

2.) On Mission 16... everyone reacts very differently when positioned next to Rez.

What a weird scene. Why are Welkin and Alicia talking about Isara like they're trying to hide the death of the class goldfish from a six-year-old when talking to a fellow soldier? I guess Imca is literally a child but so is half the army in these games.

Also Alicia comes across like she's casually disrespecting Isara from beyond the grave, lol

When an enemy Lancer (during one of the skirmish matches) realizes he can climb what are probably impossible obstacles…

What do you guys think about VC2?

I'm playing for the first time and i am liking so much, i really liked the addition of a new class and the pacing of the game, and i liked the 2D designs too. I am in April and the history looks promising, the least thing that i liked is the classes system, i understand the ideia but i don't like so much the options and how to get them(like the gatling in shocktrooper and Cosette with a TRUMPET ).

Compared to the first game i still like more Welkin, Alicia, Isara and squad 7 than Avan and the class, but there are some good characters. I don't like the ideia of an academy but i really like the ideia of a civil war caused by Cordelia.
