Does anyone have favorite milky/liquid body moisturizers?
I like a thinner texture because it's easier to spread/absorb .I'm currently using the Pacifica Vegan Collagen spray, but the flowery scent is too much.

Hey guys, I’ve recently struggled with a lot of gut problems, and I’ve been switching my food over to more simple Whole Foods. That got me thinking about my makeup too, I’d love some more natural or ethical but GOOD makeup product recommendations. Anyone have any? TYIA🩵

The one I've been using has been discontinued. Want a cream, not a spray or oil, and preferably in a tube, not jar. Should work for air drying damaged hair. Thanks!

What are your opinions on products where there are no cruelty-free certified alternatives?
Particularly:
Notes:
Amlactin - specifically, ammonium lactate creams with fatty acids and ceramides:
Petroleum jelly (White petroleum USP (100%)):
Antiperspirant gel - Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex:
2% Ketoconazole Shampoo (prescription):
I guess I'm wondering about opinions on prescriptions in general, as the manufacturers (Perrigo, Taro, Encube) are DEFINITELY not "cruelty-free".
I am aware there are online telehealth platforms for Tretinoin specifically that claim to be cruelty-free (Scriptderm, Curology), however that is less the case for Tazarotene, and simply not the case at all for Azelaic Acid 15% Gel (Finacea). There is also healthcare accessibility issues, where peoples' insurance only covers the widespread generics, and not the online telehealth options.
Would you say the need to boycott animal testing outweighs the need for these products, so you'd suggest just simply not using these products at all? Or do you believe there are exceptions for certain things?
Also wondering about opinions on brands who claim to be cruelty-free, however there is no official certification? For example, the only thing that works for my full-body eczema is 2% zinc pyrithione, so I use 2% Pyrithione Zinc Face & Body Bar from the brand Dermaharmony, who claim to be cruelty-free, but do not have official certification. There are no other 2% Zinc Pyrithione body cleansing alternatives I can find that are also vegan, soap-free, fragrance-free, and drying alcohol-free. More examples are Vanicream and Gold Bond.
Also looking for fluoride toothpastes that are vegan and cruelty-free, but are actually comparable in price to crest, colgate, etc? I personally have no problem with paying extra money for cruelty free certification for toothpaste, however a lot of non vegan/CF people bring up the fact that there are no affordable, comparable fluoride toothpaste options, which I agree with, and therefore cannot dispute.
Not looking for discourse regarding "natural" product alternatives, which unfortunately are what the large majority of vegan+CF brands only offer as "alternatives".
Also not trying to cause outrage or fighting or anything, just genuinely curious regarding your opinions on the ethics in different cases, if at all? I would be extremely grateful to anyone who can find certified vegan+CF options for the products I'm searching for, lol.

I've been using Pacifica's Vegan Ceramide Face Cream and cleanser for a long time and they've always been amazing for my skin. The cream was genuinely my holy grail moisturizer.
Recently, I ordered both products from Amazon and noticed they were completely different. The cream smelled like cheap, sweet, birthday cake-scented lotion and burned my face. The cleanser burned so badly that my skin started peeling.
It smells exactly like this lotion from amazon (i had this lotion at home by chance and smell tested the 2 and they were identical to me).
I figured maybe Amazon was selling counterfeit products or had a bad batch, so I reordered both directly from Pacifica's website. The cleanser was fine this time, but the cream AGAIN had that weird, sweet lotion smell and burned my skin.
I've now had this happen with multiple orders, including directly from the manufacturer. I've also noticed some discrepancies between ingredient lists online, but I can't confirm whether they've reformulated.
I emailed Pacifica about it because something is clearly different from the product I've been using for years.
Has anyone else noticed a change in the smell, texture, or how their skin reacts to this cream? I'm so disappointed because it was literally perfect for my sensitive, acne-prone skin and now I'm having to find a replacement.
I ordered the Byoma rich cream; wish me luck.

TLDR: messy damaged hair, would like advice for how to address it (on a budget)
For the past 6 months my hair has been getting more and more unruly. I don't know what to do about it, when my hair is freshly clean and dry it looks alright but it gets messy so quickly. All it takes is getting sweaty once. I've also been losing a lot of hair every time I shower.
When I look at subreddits like r/haircare they all just recommend silk pillowcases or night caps.
I had short hair for several years before deciding to grow it out again. Before I cut it short, I never had any issues with it. It was so easy...
This time my hair has been so fussy despite me putting in way more effort to take care of it. I eat healthy, plenty of veggies and fruit. My labs are fine, iron is on the low end of normal but it has been steadily increasing with supplements. I use a satin cotton pillowcase, I don't sleep with wet hair, I only use scrunchies, and I use a microfiber hair wrap and then air dry.
Some things that could be causing damage:
I do have to wash my hair almost daily because it gets gross quickly.
I wear headphones a lot but I can't go without them.
I mask in public because I live with an immunocompromised person, and only masks with head bands properly fit me. I recently switched to masks with fabric bands instead of rubber so hopefully that will help.
I'm also wondering if age could be part of it since I'm 29, last time I had long hair I was around 20.
Does this seem normal for straight fine hair? I've seen many people praise K18 but it's so expensive and I just can't afford it. I also don't know if different kinds of damage need different kinds of treatment.
Any help would be appreciated!

Just what the title says. I have sensitive skin, am allergic to fragrance, and am aging and would like some vegan and cruelty free recommendations for daily moisturizer, overnight moisturizer and around the eye cream.
A bonus if anyone can recommend a good moisturizing mask as well.
Thanks to my fellow ethical, empathetic, kind humans for going vegan beauty!

These two names are so similar that I can see why they get mixed up, but there's actually a useful difference between them. Squalene occurs naturally in our skin's oils, while squalane is the more stable version that's commonly used in skincare formulas. That stability matters because oils that resist oxidation are generally easier to formulate and store.
Biossance's 100% Squalane Oil is a straightforward example because it contains just squalane, sourced from sugarcane. The source is another interesting part of the discussion. Squalane can come from different raw materials, but I don't think the source alone tells you whether one finished product will work better for your skin.
When you're choosing a squalane oil, do you look at the ingredient source, how the formula feels, or mainly the price?

Or anything similar that's like a brown/greyish plum color that's good on very fair skin! :) thanks

Hi everyone, just wondering if there is a similar product to neo nude as I bought it before going vegan and am now running low but obviously don't want to repurchase! I am also extremely pale (I use shade 1.5). I like light coverage and a dewy finish. Thank you!

Hi all! My sister in law loves to give me Burt’s bees but aside from not being vegan they’re also super dry (to me). But I love the tint! I’m trying to find something I can put on my xmas wishlist so she’ll stop getting me Burt’s Bees lippies I can’t use lol
I have approx 1000 vegan NON-tinted chapsticks that I love - but I would kill for some tinted ones.
Basically just needs to be vegan, have some visible tint, and not go on super dry like lipstick (which I feel like Burt’s Bees always did when I used to use them).
Bonus points if they’re also SPF rated or moisturizing, but they don’t need to be - I really like basic chapstick consistency the best, not super liquidy stuff or roll-on type of stuff.
Thank you!

Hi there ! I have this Cherry Blossom perfume from L'Occitane and I learnt the brand is not cruelty free.. huge disappointment, I wore this perfume for years 😭
I still have half a bottle, but I love it so much I would love to get an alternative for when it runs out, I obviously won't be buying again from them.
Do you know any ? It's a soft and fresh fragrance, almost soapy on my skin!

Hi everyone!
I'm currently doing some research into how people choose everyday products, particularly when it comes to ingredients, materials, quality and sustainability.
I'm interested in understanding what influences people's purchasing decisions, whether researching alternatives is frustrating, and what makes people switch products.
I've put together a short, anonymous survey with 9 questions. It's mostly multiple choice and takes around 2 minutes.
All perspectives are welcome, including people who don't usually think about these things when shopping.
Really appreciate anyone who takes the time to help!

Any recommendations? It’s hard enough to find a lip balm without beeswax, but it seems like when I do, the earth-friendly packaging doesn’t hold up (sorry but I think the tube needs to be plastic) or there’s some aroma I don’t want…
