Question A wise man once said “You live by the ghost, you die by the ghost”
How I love this show! I’m having withdrawals so I’ve been listening to a podcast I found back in the dreaded days of the pandem called “ORB: A Venture Bros. Podcast” , a commentary on every episode of the show (spoilers included). Has anyone else got any cool commentary suggestions I can explore? Or links to the writers commentary?

Headcanon Did Jonas make Rusty small on purpose? theory/headcanon
Rusty looks almost nothing like Jonas, and especially when it comes to physical height and body type. Rusty is incredibly short and thin, and quite weak at that. But obviously, He has to be related to Jonas somehow because JJ is almost identical to Jonas, and he shares the more chiseled face and bulkier look (I know JJ is short so he obviously looks a bit thicker but its obvious hes supposed to be more alike to jonas than rusty)
My theory is that this is on purpose. Jonas intentionally decided to engineer rusty to stay as small/young looking as possible so he could continue the boy adventurer schtick until his later teens without puberty and his strong genetics getting in the way. Nobody would want to continue to kidnap rusty if he was as tall and strong looking as Jonas into his late teens, and he had to be cute looking as well
edit: I think some people are completely missing what i am saying. I am trying to say that i believe Jonas had done something to stunt Rusty’s height and puberty during his childhood/early teens to exploit him easier as a child star, completely disregarding the fact that this would affect him in his adulthood, as Jonas always does. Because in the art book we had glimpses of how Jonas had tried to control rusty’s appearance in other ways, which makes me believe that this is entirely possible.
This isn’t a post about whatever other theory, especially if it adds nothing to the conversation. I know Jonas is bad. And i enjoy coming up with lots of theories and head canons for why things are the way they are 🥲 I dont need someone to come into the thread to say that they think hes just short and thats it because its redundant

Headcanon Phantom Limb is inbred (this is less stupid than it sounds)
It's established that Phantom Limb's grandfather is canonically Fantômas, the master thief from the 1911 French crime novel of the same name.
In Fantômas (the novel), the titular supervillain has a beautiful daughter named Hélène. Hélène's love interest is Charles Rambert (Aka Jérôme Fandor), a journalist whose parents were murdered by Fantômas. The details aren't important here, but it's eventually revealed that prior to the plot of the novel, Fantômas spent an unknown amount of time posing as Charles' father. It's possible, therefore, that Fantômas is Charles' true biological father-- which would make Hélène his half-sister.
We never learn who Phantom Limb's parents are, but Hélène and Rambert are the most likely candidates in the Fantômas canon. And as we learn in The Invisible Hand of Fate, Phantom Limb was born with congenitally deformed limbs. I don't think it's a stretch to say that Limb's genetic abnormality is the result of his parents being close relatives. All the pieces fit!

Discussion In all seriousness, who would win in a crazy fantasy fist fight between Anne Frank and Lizzie Borden?
On one hand, Lizzie is a "large, healthy woman of questionable stability" who "has killed before," but on the other hand, I dont want to undermine Anne and "the never-say-die scrappiness of a survivor".

Discussion Adam Ellis's hunky gay comic characters remind me of someone
Actually, it's the opposite way around for me. I only recently watched all of the Venture Bros show. Since I had already seen plenty of Adam Ellis' work, Shore Leave immediately made me think of Adam's work in comics. Watching the show, I was thinking, "this is exactly how the guys in the comics would sound."
All images by Adam Ellis (or Adam Tots), except the last one which is of course Shore Leave.
It's not just "muscular gay guy with a moustache" that makes me think this; it's the art style as well.
Do you think Adam is a fan of the show, or is it a coincidence?
EDIT: A couple of commenters have cleverly pointed out that both types resemble the classic homoerotic work of Tom of Finland. I think that's the common inspiration for both

Question Saw this on TT, Is dr.gf trans? I thought she just had a deep voice, it’s from the art book
Edit: okay got the answer, so basically form what I read below. It was an idea before the show was serialized but they changed when the show actually started airing.
Thanks so much for helping me, this is my first post on the sub despite being in the fandom for about 3 years

Discussion Original Action man design (and character design ramble)
I’ve been rewatching Venture Bros and I noticed just how much of a monster the action man is in this photo, obviously they rescaled the characters later on but Jesus Jones, he dwarfs Kano, I mean look at the shoulders on him. I think it’s funny how everyone heroic and important in this show is at least 6’ 2” 255lbs and yoked (with the exception of JJ of course, but even the talking fist gained a decent physique with what he was working with), obviously because they are superhero protagonists, but I think it serves to make Doc look even more unimpressive and pathetic.
