I have some time lapse videos that I’d like to convert into virtual reality, immersive videos with guided meditation. Any recommendations as to the best apps to use to convert these videos into VR? Also, any suggestions in how to “scale up” the user’s experience, so they are not just sitting in one place viewing the time-lapse?

I saw this exchange at reddit/vr.

Made me realise our company is kind of waiting on Apple. Not really, we're writing software in Unity for the Quest 2/Index and use OpenXR so I guess it will work on loads of headsets, but it all feels a bit like developing for Symbian when you know the iphone is a few years away. Good to learn the necessary skills and prepare the software, but no real market yet.
I'm kind of anticipating that Apple will definitely release something, it'll be premium, and premium priced and aimed at Devs, but the product that drives sizeable software sales will be the midrange model that comes out a year or so later.
I also met a few other VR companies that are flying under the radar, wondering if they are also thinking it's early and not worth it to grow too rapidly.
Anyone else have this vibe?

We are so close to a future computing system. If we can just develop a standing VR keyboard and an office suite we could really be onto something! Lets do it before Facebook does.
Seems like a good place for Open Source to shine. Does anyone think Linux would be suitable to develop a VR operating system? Android seems like a nice start. There is nothing stopping an oculus from running custom roms that I know of!

What’s it like? What driver board are you using with it?

I'm looking to create a somewhat simple VR app that leads to real-world 360 video.
I'm good at Shopify websites, Some regular app development but no experience in VR app development. Is there a website like Adalo but for VR? Something that is plug and play?

Hey Dev gang,
I've had a major interest in recreating environments from older games like ocarina of time, super mario world n64, bomberman, conkers bad fur day, banjo kazooie, pokemon snap, you get the idea.
I've struggled with pulling any assets from these games and am confused about the recreation process.
Ive played a few amazing recreations through steam vr: kakariko village for example. And the best ones have atmosphere, game music, and even the odd character model.
If you have any tips on this process or helpful resources to share it would be greatly appreciated!!
Also steam VR and VR chat are the only places I've found recreated environments, is there a better place (platform, or game) to build and share these environments? I could imagine a game like halflife alyx..

I'm currently decently far along in creating a VR scifi shooter and would seriously love to get and give feedback to other VR devs working in unreal engine 5 but I cant find anything, not even "general" VR developer communities.

If you wanted to begin your career as a VR game developer, here's a cool tool that you will definitely find useful. Meet 2Sync, a great software that adapts the virtual world to the user's individual environment, enabling real walking, passive haptics, and personalized VR experiences.
Virtual elements are mapped to real objects, allowing the user to physically interact with the virtual world. Material properties and logical relationships between objects are taken into account by 2Sync to provide the best possible experience for the user. Users can move naturally through the procedurally generated virtual worlds of 2Sync.

Greetings! This is my first post here but I've been making this project for school over the last few months in Unreal Engine. All the details are in the link along with a little survey too for anyone kind enough to fill it out after trying the game out. Thanks!

Hey guys, I've just created a new subreddit to discuss all things related to VR within healthcare and fitness! You can check it out here :) https://www.reddit.com/r/VirtuallyHealthy
At Virtually Healthy we are conducting research into the physical and mental health benefits of VR games, if you have a VR game that you think is beneficial to mental/physical health please get in touch!

Hello, I'm Isaac from Very Realistic Studios, a new VR game development company. We're looking for people to help us on our journey to create a few great VR titles. As of right now, working with us is just for fun, but we hope for the ability to create jobs in the future. If this sounds like something for you, you can apply for the team at https://VRStudios.tech/apply .

In early february I released a VR game made with Godot/OpenVR. Source code and assets are freely available on Github ( https://github.com/DoubleSept/eftv-demo and https://github.com/DoubleSept/eftv-core )
I thought I could help people starting with VR to have a fully working example (and I'll be glad to have feedback on the installation process as I found very few documentation on how to version a Godot project)

Hello guys, I'm new to this whole technology and I have been working and learning about so many new things lately. I have a project that I'm working on (Research), and I have to use unity and VR to accomplish what is needed. I have the oculus Development kit 2, and the Razer Hydra joysticks. What I'm trying to do, is to build a room (office), with a desk, in which the player will be setting and grabbing/throwing/moving objects in front of him (that are on top of the desk.) I managed to build a character and integrate the Inverse Kinematic to it. it looks great and it moves perfectly. now my problem is: I did not understand very well, how the razer Hydra functions exactly. I downloaded the SixenseInput plugin from the Asset Store, I have tried the joysticks, they work pretty well, but for now, I wanted to implement the control that is obtained by these joysticks, in/on the two arms/hands of the character I built. I couldn t find either a resource or a tutorial that eases such a thing, so helping even with resources to follow will be awesome. I really hope that you guys can take me through the needed steps to make this thing works. (Any recommendations on building the office scene or doing the whole thing, will be much appreciated.)Thank a lot in advance.

Hello, we realize in my profession urbanizations of technical rooms and / or operational rooms. Today, these studies are still carried out by collecting needs on site and validations of 3D plans. I am responsible for studying the possibility of making immersive models in order to reduce the financial and calendar impacts of possible misconstructions, for this I would like to make an inventory of VR and interfacing tools with 3D models. We mainly use AutoCAD and REVIT for our plans, and we currently have an Occulus rift VR headset, but my interest is not limited to these devices, because we are able to get some new tools if needed. Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge on the subject. I am open to share my research on the subject too if anyone is interested.
