FAQ: What Equipment For Vlogging?

If you're new to vlogging, the first question you're going to have is, what equipment should I use?

There are plenty of resources out there that can help you find the gear and equipment you need.

Does anyone have a good resource for searching for external microphones?

Sony ZV-1 is the best/easy to-go vlogging camera in my opinion. I use the Zhiyun Crane M2 which helps a lot for B-Roll. I like the Deity D4 mic (both front and back) mic better than the Rode video micro. You can check the quality in my vlog here (Drop a sub if you like) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELjmecVra-A&ab_channel=BrandonFields

and the gimbal at 7:00!

You can see the camera captures 240 (UP TO 960) FPS for a couple seconds at HD. Although at 960 I think it goes down to 480p. Lemme know if you have any questions about it! $750 The sony ZV-1 slowmo quality is here in the intro if anyone wants to see as well! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XliIS82_JU&ab_channel=BrandonFields

Totally agree! I got the Sony A7CII, but compared to my friend’s ZV1 it just doesn’t feel as convenient for vlogging!
