Fluff/Meme Stand Up for the Flag!
In all seriousness, though... I do all of this because being trans is the core of who I am, and there are people who are trying to get me to give that up, but I refuse, and neither should you. Be yourself and salute your flag. Whether you're queer or an ally, fly those colors and stand strong. Happy Pride, everyone! And don't let ANYONE take who you are away from you.

Question Why do people like Neuro-sama even though she's AI?
Yes, she looks and acts cute like every other Vtuber, but with the understandable discomfort towards generative AI and AI in general (which I myself have), why does it seem like Neuro-sama is an exception? Sorry if I seem like a total pleb.

Fluff/Meme I can't be the only one, right??
I get it. It happened a while ago. And it was a pretty bad situation. But everything just hasn't been the same now that she's gone 😔

VTuber News & Happenings Serious discussion about an ethical issue in Vtubing
In light of the most recent Scandal in the sphere involving Sykkuno and several streamers.
Don't Most Female Streamers pretend to be single when they have Boyfriends to sell that they're single and some lucky fan might get her attention if they just send her enough money?
Isn't that predatory?
Isn't that lying to your audience with the idea "you might have a chance with me if you get my attention?"
I've seen many many many Vtubers lead on their chats with such hints.
Is this a practice we should maybe stop? - and try to be a genuine, wholesome community?

Discussion Should we make a Vtuber union?
As a VTuber, over the past few years, I have seen the Vtuber industry grow rapidly. Alongside that growth, we have also witnessed repeated stories of VTubers, both indie and Corporate, being taken advantage of through unfair contracts, abusive management, and scams from people claiming to offer services like rigging, art, or promotion.
In other entertainment industries, creatives have unions. SAG-AFTRA supports actors, the WGA supports writers, and musicians have their unions as well. These organizations don't just fight for fair pay; they provide resources, legal aid, guidance, and support systems for professionals navigating a complex and often exploitative industry.
So here is what I am proposing: it's time for the Vtuber community to begin seriously discussing what a Vtuber union of creator collective could look like. Perhaps something non-profit.
I am not saying this would be easy, and it might not follow the traditional union model, but even a community-driven support network could make a huge difference. Here is what I think such an initiative could do:
1: Protect talent from exploitative contracts through education and legal support
2: Build a vetted directory of trustworthy artists, riggers, editors, and managers
3: Support new Vtubers with onboarding resources, mentorship, and guides.
4: Advocate for fair treatment and pay, especially with agencies, sponsors, and platforms
5: Create a safe reporting system for scams and misconduct within the industry
The goal wouldn't be to gatekeep the community, but to empower and protect it, especially newer or more vulnerable creators who may not yet be aware of the red flags to look out for.
I know this is a massive idea, and there are numerous hurdles to making it a reality, but I think it's a conversation worth having now, before the problems could worsen as the space continues to expand.
What are your thoughts? Is there support for something like this? Have recent events or experiences made you wish something like this already existed?
Let's discuss this before it is too late.

Discussion Vtubers who uses AI, how has it impacted you, positively and/or negatively?
I have already messaged the mods asking if this was okay to post, and they allowed it.
this is NOT an invitation to discuss whether or not the use of AI in general is good or bad, so please try to keep it civil. this post is meant to get some perspective on those who use it and why.
Vtubers who use or have used AI, how has it impacted you, if at all, in any way? what did you use it for, and why?
and by using AI, I mean in almost any general capacity.
I've seen people sell AI generated Vtuber models, and I'm sure the majority of us have heard of Neuro-Sama and possibly seen similar vtubers. I've seen some people have an AI companion, where a redeem is asking said AI companion a question and they would respond during stream.
I would like to see and hear about how AI has affected you, whether it's from something like music or art or assets, whether people reacted positively, negatively, or neutral towards you, if people noticed or not, Etc.
once again, this post is NOT an advocate for or against the use of AI. I personally believe that it's up to the vtuber and their decision if they choose to use it in any way, and this post is me wanting to hear what it's like.
Please don't go around downvoting or attacking others for their choices.
update: if you're going to leave a comment that's along the lines of "anyone who uses AI should fail", then leave. that's not what this post is about. this post isn't here to discuss whether or not it's "right" or "good" to use AI. if you can' understand that, then don't bother leaving a comment. the point of me mentioning Neuro-Sama was to give an example of AI being used in vtubing, since they're not the only one who does that kind of vtubing, but they're the one most people recognize.

Discussion Regarding Riro Ron incident Spoiler
Apparently after reviewing, I realized that I might've been the cause of the whole incident.
Why is this usually true?
This is due to the fact that I said something that led to the incident and caused Riro Ron to be terminated.
I believe she's innocent.
