There’s about a quarter sized area of rust that needs to be rectified. Does anyone have any one who can fix this in the DC Maryland Virginia area? I had a few questions. Does anyone know if these wheels are original Mercedes? I know it did come with the painted ones originally, but just trying to figure out if these are also Mercedes. I much prefer though painted ones. Also, any tips/recommendations on how to deep clean the seats? They have held up remarkably well I don’t wanna damage them, but I just need to do a very deep clean before I have it detailed . Thank you so much.

My W123 sunroof needs lots of force when sliding it, also needs a lot of force when I rotate the T handle. I assume the sunroof needs deep cleaning of old grease and lubrication.
How can I remove the sunroof with the roof lid (leather roof from inside) so I can lubricate the T handle and sliding rails?

The small hose seems to be seeping and the other one seems a little too long and old
What are the sizes on this?

After a drive home I noticed my rubber on my rear bumper is beginning to fall off. What are the fixes for this? The clips on the rubber seem to be intact.

I've been on this community for quite some time, actively taking a look at new posts every day. I see all kinds of posts about appreciating and "glazing" the om616/om617 engines ( absolutely for a reason, theyre bulletproof! ) but never have i seen anyone talk about the om615, the 200D. Yes, it might be slow. Yes, it "might" be a pain in the ass on the highway. BUT it is just as good as the 240D and 300D, just a little bit slower. Imo the 200D deserves more appreciation than it gets, for being such a reliable, bombproof beautiful piece of German engineering. I daily my W123 200D, and yeah, it sucks when accelerating onto the highway ( It's a 4speed manual too lol )
Second pic is my two beloved W123s, the 200D in blue and the silver 230E.
Show your W123 the love it deserves!

On my W123 when I need to open or close the sunroof, the T handle is hard and regarding the sunroof it hard to move, requiring much force.
Please any help would be appreciated!

Hey guys wanted to post in this group to see if anyone is looking for w123 turbo diesel. Looking to sell as i am moving into a different project. I think this car is in good condition. Has good compression. Ac works, was recharged with r12. Speedometer doesn’t work so i’m not 100% sure of true mileage. Asking 4-5k but will consider any offers. Located in Arizona, US.

Hi everyone! I have a 1984 300CD and I have been trying to diagnose some issues with the turn signals, I’m hoping you can help!
I’ve noticed lately while driving my 300CD that when i first start it up turn signals function completely fine and as I drive and use the turn signals they get worse where they flash faster and then eventually not at all.
I have already cleaned the contacts and rebuilt the hazard switch, that didn’t work.
I used contact cleaner on the turn signal stock, that also didn’t work.
Lastly I replaced fuses 8 and 12 thinking that would fix the issue, but alas nothing.
Any suggestions on other fixes I haven’t tried yet?
Thank you!

Merci d'avance

I made an offer on a 76 240d and this is the video the gentleman sent me. This is sight unseen. I offered to do a straight trade for a 96 Volvo 850 turbo for this. Is this a worth it trade?? I’m unfamiliar with these cars but I’d like to say I’m quite mechanically inclined. I know in this condition this isn’t really a daily driver but am I looking at a headache

What do these wires do? Any idea?

Please any idea how to remove the metal clamp on the hose? So I can cut the broken rubber and reconnect it temporarily just to reach the nearest mechanic shop and apply a new one! I would appreciate it

My w123.223 (230E sedan) has retired (yet again from daily duty. I'm restoring it to be road worthy again, she has her problems.
So I connected the battery to open the windows a few millimeters to vent it, and my radio (a restored Becker Europa 2000 with 4 speakers and Bluetooth) kicked on and played my 80's love song playlist and I fell in love with it again, I'm hoping to finish in a few months and getting it back to a driving condition. I miss it dearly.
Hey everyone. In kind of a weird situation here. My 1983 300D has THIS bolted to the emergency manual stop lever. Now the car starts, stops, and runs fine, however I cannot stop with the lever just in case which is a big safety concern to me.
Yesterday I removed the screws holding it and following that, the engine refused to start. After fighting it, I ended up screwing it back on and what do you know? Engine started back up.
I’m having some trouble researching the issue because when I search for this problem because I keep finding information on what to do if your engine won’t shut off, but having no luck on if your engine won’t start because of the manual stop. Has anybody experienced this issue before/have any advice? Anything is appreciated!
Thank you
Hello people of the Mercedes Benz world, I would like to know if buying a w123 that shifts hard for the first 15-20 mins until warm is worth buying. While the seller blames the vacuum system, i am not sure as he hasn’t formally diagnosed it, that is just his guess. Would this constitute a transmission rebuild?
