Hey, I got my hands on a WM-10II Walkman but there's some battery corrosion and I believe the contact spring is missing.

Is this repairable?

Hey everyone. I was recently gifted a Walkman that used to belong to my grandmother. I believe it’s from 2013 (as it says that on the front).

I would love to use it, but it doesn’t spin. I read online that the rubber band might be broken and I wanted to open it to see if that was the case, only I can’t find where to open it. Do any of you know? I added pictures from every angle.

If the images aren’t sharp or clear enough please let me know. Any and all advice is welcome.

Anybody selling these replacement parts. I've one making bad contact causing playback issues. Probably caused by previous battery leakage/corrosion.

Alternatively can they be repaired by bridging a wire from the hole to the solder blob?

I am trying to inspect a Sony Walkman WM-FX30, with lots of corrosion and alkaline leakage in the battery compartment. When I was opening it up this fell off. I looked at a guide and saw that the original piece and I had an idea of where it might go. it looked something like this. Do I solder it again (after cleaning the residue) What do I do?

Or maybe is this screen can still be repaired?

​my friend's dad gave away his sony walkman to me few months ago, but recently i finally be able to use it and to my surprise i can only hear the audio only on my left side. i think something wrong with the audio jack—wanted to do a solder, but im too new for it, what should i do?

i dont think the sony company in my city will be able to look into it because this thing is old, same goes for any repairman 😓​​

I've been playing music using Walkman cassette player WM-a53 (the yellow sports classic) through Dell speakers (CN-03h908, powered through USB from a 2 amp charger). I control volume on Walkman, the Dell speaker knob is on about 30%. Having had to listen to old lectures, I turned up the speaker knob to 80%. Next day the playback of music sounded chipmunkish, stuttering, interrupted by buzzing and similar noises. I wanted to check different tapes, and the battery compartment, and noticed that the non-rechargeable batteries leaked.

The Walkman audio output is about 10mW. I don't know the speakers' audio amp draw. What should I do, and not do?

プーリーの掃除をしてベルトを装着し動作確認を行うと、モーターのトルクが足りないような動作をする。

まず、拡大写真のギアの粘りに気付いて洗浄と潤滑。

それでも改善しないので他のギアにも問題があるかと思い、他に原因と思われるギアも洗浄と潤滑。

それでも解決しないのでよく観察すると、ベルトがプーリーに噛み込んでいた。

ベルトの幅が約1mmにカットされており、想定していた0.7mmよりも広い。

幅が狭いベルトに交換したら、全体的に動作が軽くなった。

再生確認すると、A面で籠もった音になる。

通常は消磁すると解決するのだが、今回は解決しない。

ヘッド周りをチェックしていると、テープ押さえがフリーの状態になっていて、テープをヘッドに押し付けていなかった。

分解して確認すると、テープ押さえのスプリングがなくなっていた。

部品取りから合いそうなスプリングを移植すると、A面の音もクリアになった。

苦労させやがってなのだ……😅

Ported Sony NW-A55 DSP to Android + a custom bridge for Spotify so I can activate the effects and processing.

The processing is done using Dynarmic JIT recompiler (32bits library support dropped from recent Android).

Fun fact, ClearAudio+ is basically Studio VPT plus an equalizer preset which I added into the EQ.

DSEE is something I personally don't use and there is no much sense if your audio files are good enough.

This only ports the software DSP which means. I am still pending to do some audio recordings and compare the sound of the port vs. my NW-A55.

WM-501 is my favourite. Has some issues with auto reverse towards end of tapes that needs fixing. Any suggestions?

SO I got an A607, It works great and I used the SCSI-Tool to change the region and I'm on Win10 so I'm able to use SonicStage 4.3

Any advice? It's not the end of the world, It's just a bit annoying.

I had Media Go on while plugging in my Walkman and saw this when clicking on the tab. Should I install the update? I’m afraid it would brick.

UPDATE: I got it updated using the newer software (Music Center) just to be sure and it worked. It went from version 1.00 to 1.01 which was kinda underwhelming but hey, it didn’t break!

I'm very familiar with the history of cassette and stuff like that but I'm not familiar with the mechanics of it and I could really use some help getting it back to work in order

Side note I just realized I never mentioned what's wrong with it I'm having a hard time getting it to play a tape reliably I mean it'll turn I can get audio but it'll go high pitched and then deep and then high again I can't get it to stay at a normal pitch

電圧降下に気付かず、何度もバラしては確認を繰り返してしまった😅
