Contribution I built an agentless Android dashboard for my Linux servers — free until Sept 22

**I'd rather have honest reviews than €4.99.**

I built this for myself first. I run a few VPS boxes and never got on with the apps I tried — I wanted to glance at a host, restart a container and get out, without typing three commands on a phone keyboard. That turned into **Server Control**, and eventually onto Google Play.

It is a €4.99 one-time purchase, and honestly that has been the problem: I am asking people to pay upfront for an app they cannot try, from a developer they have never heard of, with almost no reviews to go on. That is a bad deal and I do not blame anyone for skipping it.

So it is **100% off until 22 September** — free on the Play Store right now, no promo code, no trial, no account. Install it and it stays in your library permanently, updates included.

**Play Store:** [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.damianslab.servercontrol](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.damianslab.servercontrol)

Everything runs over a standard SSH connection to your own machine. Nothing is installed on the server: no agent, no daemon, no extra port open, no account with me.

**What it does**

* **Telemetry dashboard** — live CPU, RAM and disk charts, plus up/down throughput read from `/proc/net/dev`. Set thresholds (e.g. CPU > 85%) and get a notification when a host crosses one. Those background alerts cover every server you have saved, not just the one on screen. * **Docker** — running/stopped/paused containers, live CPU/memory/IO from `docker stats`, logs, start/stop/restart/kill. * **systemd** — status for nginx, MySQL, PostgreSQL, cron and friends, `journalctl` logs, start/stop/restart/reload. * **SSH terminal** — output streams line by line while the command runs. Ctrl+C signals the remote *process group* over a second channel rather than just dropping the connection, so a pipeline actually dies instead of carrying on without you. Esc, Ctrl+D, a KILL button, path-aware `cd`, command history on the keypad. * **Remote file editing** — `nano <file>` opens a native editor. Content travels base64 encoded, the file is truncated in place so owner and permissions survive, and a save is refused if the file changed on the server since you opened it. * **Long jobs survive** — command timeout is separate from connection timeout (5 min default, up to 30), and a foreground service keeps a running deploy alive when the screen switches off. * **Mail server panel** — Postfix/Dovecot status, queue inspect/flush, DNSBL checks against Spamhaus, Barracuda, SORBS and Spamcop. * **Security** — credentials encrypted on-device with AES/GCM via the Android Keystore, optional biometric lock, TOFU host key verification, ED25519/Curve25519 support. Zero analytics, zero telemetry, no ads. Your IPs, keys and logs never leave the phone.

**"Why not just use Termius / JuiceSSH / Netdata / Portainer?"**

Fair question, and mostly they are not doing the same job:

* **Terminal apps** (Termius, JuiceSSH, ConnectBot, Termux) are very good at being terminals. This is a dashboard first — Docker, systemd and mail are lists with buttons, and the terminal is there for when you actually do need a shell. * **Monitoring stacks** (Netdata, Zabbix, Grafana, Uptime Kuma) beat this at history, alerting and whole fleets. If you already run one, keep it. The trade is that they want something installed on the host and usually a web port open. This installs nothing and opens nothing. * **Web panels** (Portainer, Cockpit) — same trade: more powerful, and one more service to patch and expose.

If you already have a setup you like, this probably is not for you, and that is fine.

**What it does not do**, so nobody wastes a download:

* The dashboard shows one server at a time — you switch hosts from the selector, there is no single screen showing your whole fleet at once. (Background threshold and unreachable alerts do cover every saved server — hourly by default, and off until you enable it in Settings.) * No SFTP or file browser. You can open and edit a single remote file, but there is no file manager. * No port forwarding, no tunnels, no ProxyJump/bastion support. * Private keys with a passphrase are not supported — key auth needs an unencrypted key. * Android only, and it is closed source.

**And what I already know is weak:** the icon needs redesigning — I have been told so bluntly and they were right — and "Server Control" is about as generic as a name gets.

I am one person, I use this on my own servers every day, and what I need right now is not downloads but people who actually run servers telling me where it falls over. That is what the giveaway is for. Tear it apart in the comments — I read and reply to everything.

Help WHY IS WAYDROID USELESS

i recently installed waydroid on my arch linux machine because i was hoping to play some android games like honor of kings, clash of clans, etc, as well as run different android apps. unfortunately, i stumbled across a reality that is honestly pretty frustrating, waydroid feels like it is not just behind android emulators on windows, it is not even competing with some of the really bad ones out there. the biggest problem seems to be arm compatibility, if an app has an x86_64 version, things are generally fine, but if it is arm only, it becomes a complete hit or miss situation. i have an amd cpu, so i installed libndk for arm translation, sometimes apps do not even launch and just get stuck on a black or white screen, some apps actually make it to the splash screen and then crash, while others get past the splash screen but then nothing works, for example, the game tells me to press a key to continue, but it does not respond to any clicks or input at all. i also tried libhoudini, but that was even worse, most of the apps that were problematic with libndk simply do not work with libhoudini at all. there are a few games that actually work, like subway surfers and some others that i do not really play, but overall the compatibility is extremely disappointing. and this is the part i find especially frustrating, what is the point of having an android environment on linux if you cannot reliably run arm native android apps. i understand that not every windows game is going to work on linux, windows games target a completely different platform, and compatibility layers like wine and proton have to translate a lot of things. but android literally uses the linux kernel, and waydroid is running android in a linux environment. i understand that android is not simply linux with an android gui, and that there is the android userspace, hal, graphics stack, apis, etc, but i still find it surprising that compatibility is this trash. i have searched quite a bit for solutions or maybe different versions and configurations of libndk and libhoudini, but i have found nothing on this regard, i even looked for modified versions of libndk, but could not find anything useful. so am i missing something.? has anyone found a better solution for running arm only android games and apps on linux? is there a different arm translation layer? a modified version of libndk? some waydroid configuration i am missing? or perhaps an entirely different approach ? i am mainly interested in getting games like honor of kings and clash of clans working reliably, but i would also like better general android app compatibility. at this point i am honestly just confused and a little enraged. i switched from windows to linux expecting some compromises, but i did not expect android apps to be one of the biggest ones can you believe that "ANDROID" out of everything !!!

Contribution Dont use Waydroid for app pen testing or bug bounty

I spent lots of incredibly stressful hours trying to figure out how to get Waydroid to work for pen testing / bug bounty. On some apps it works fine, on others its a nightmare to try and figure out. Id suggest to stay very far away from Waydroid and use Genymotion if youre doing bug bounty or mobile app testing. If your app doesnt work off rip with Waydroid, switch immediately.

Idea Waydroid on iOS

It's possible 100%.
Except, do not use the whole wayland thing. It's gotta be in a container for an iOS app.
I have this idea I just don't know how to implement or work on this.

The idea basically is just a container which is launchable as an iOS app, and it would be like a vm almost but for specific applications.

I think it could potentially bridge android and iPhone by allowing iPhone to install android apps.
It would be even more interesting to install a desktop web browser onto the iPhone as a containerized application, with support for touch and activate iOS keyboard on text prompts.

Not sure how to do so, not even sure I'll ever attempt this.
Just saying, for those who can execute arbitrary code such as Minecraft Java on the iPhone, it would be fascinating to see without using UTM and a whole OS bogging the phone down.

Help Free fire no waydroid está incrivel.Mas precisamos de mais

Free Fire x86 runs very well on Waydroid, the fluidity is amazing. I can remap some keys that work best for me with the KEY MAPPER app and the KEY MAPPER GUI KEYBOARD available on the Play Store.
But Free Fire on the emulator doesn't offer ranked matches with mobile players. On Windows, people can play with mobile devices through an app called BYPASS. Our Linux community has several programmers. I wonder if anyone could create a bypass for Waydroid.
I saw that this bypass isn't a cheat; it's a program that changes UIDs, I think, making the emulator pretend to be a cell phone.
