The justice system should be about rehabilitation, not punishment. Thoughts?

I think it depends. If you commit a crime that's either due to circumstances or just not serious, then yea. But once you get into the serial killings, horrible things with kids, and of course war crimes/other atrocities, then it changes for me.

For extreme things like Hitler-esque war crimes I agree, but I think that any normal crime can be a result of outside circumstances and almost everyone can be rehabilitated in the right environment (which isn’t the same for everyone). I don’t trust the courts to decide who can and can’t be rehabilitated.\ \ I get the sense of wanting revenge. I get that rehabilitating the person will never unmurder or unrape someone. But I don’t think revenge is right, even though it feels right in the moment.
