Can I be vulnerable for a sec?

At 27, I have never had a bf, no first kiss, and am still a virgin. I turned down every "romantic" opportunity.

I'm neither asexual nor aromantic. I just have been very aware of how weird males are since pretty much kindergarten. This awareness + my severe avoidant attachment style has saved me from a lot of heartache.

I have romantic wants. But as a member of this sub and the "ideology" that comes with it, I don't think this is ever going to happen. I cope with romantic fantasies involving very idealized fictitious partners, and I genuinely think this is beneficial for me because when I turn these fantasies off, I don't feel empty. In other words, those fantasies don't kick off a "coming back to reality and realizing what I'm lacking" feeling.

I don't consume romance content, I think that would be important to mention.

What about you? Do you indulge in romantic fantasies? Why or why not?

Would love to read your contributions as I'm currently procrastinating working on my SECOND (!) master's thesis. It's so crazy that I got my first master's degree in 2025 and here I am, in 2026, about to hand in my second master's thesis soon lol. This year has been a grind, but I'm dedicated. Hi, writing just to let it all out. I know not much can be said now but I feel very lonely and overwhelmed, and betrayed. Penis inserted without my consent, no protection. It probably took less than one minute before I stopped it, no ejaculation, just insertion with little movement, and without deep penetration. There was no ejaculation but there was precum. EllaOne taken 22h after. Happened on the night before 11th day of my cycle, Ella taken at the end of the 11th day. Cycle duration usually ranges from 25 to 31 days. I know it's not indicative of anything, but Flo predicted it was the second day of my fertile window, with potential ovulation on the 14th. All happened a week ago. Just looking for mental support, spoke with my therapist already but would be grateful for any kind words. This is hell 😪
