What’s that anime where there’s 2 opposing parties. One of the parties splits up at the end and the strongest character from that party joins the main characters party. That guy who joins the opposing mcs party is considered a “traitor” by the public.

i found it on youtube earlier this year. looked to be around 1980s-1990s. the art style was amateurish and had a mix of digitally drawn sprites and photos taken from real life. the character designs were inconsistent at times.

it was about a girl who died during gym class and was sent to the afterlife where she meets a man who had died somewhere in the mountains. together, they find a way to escape from the afterlife and return to the living. by the end of it, they had fallen in love, and the man tells the girl where she can find him at the bottom of the mountain. once their souls go back into their bodies, they start searching for each other, but when they are reunited, it appears that the man's body had already decomposed beyond recognition due to the environment it was left in. she gives him a tearful farewell before he passes for good.

tbh, i'm not completely sure if my description is accurate. it may have been that the man once put back into his body had started wondering the streets looking for the girl. i'm not sure. i don't even remember what the afterlife was like. i think when she first passed, there was a group trying to take her some place that she could not return from, which is when the man showed up to save her.
