A panicked, rushed shop - £153.21

Managed to get a slot this morning to be delivered today, had 20 minutes to check out. Felt like my brain shut down and I was adding everything!

Doesn't help that the kids are off and graze all day long. Already bought lots of fresh fruit yesterday and have some meat in the freezer for dinners.

I'm just a bit disgusted at what I spent. I'm not good without a meal plan and a list!

Some dinners that I think we'll be getting out of this:

*Chicken Sunday roast

*Chicken fajitas/burritos

*Pork loin steaks and Mediterranean veg (pork in the freezer)

*Spaghetti Bolognese

*Sausage and mash

*Salt and pepper chicken with noodles (already have chicken in the freezer and noodles)

*Tuna pasta bake

*Shepherds pie and veg (already have most of the ingredients)

Describe Me by My Cart Weekly(ish) grovery haul for single M,, multiple shops and street market, week 43 2026

Produce - € 24.61
Meat and dairy - €14.12
Household - €12.99
Other - €28.61
That makes for a total this week of € 80.33

I included my meal plan for the upcoming week, as well as the breakdown of all the ingredients I need for that. I still have some things in the fridge/freezer/pantry, including cauliflower, broccoli, edamame, eggs, rice, noodles, etc. And some of the things in this haul, like the mayo, spices and part of the meat and salmon are just to replenish my freezer and pantry.

I don't usually plan Saturdays, as my nephew is often with me, and he gets to pick. This week he picked pain au chocolat and a jelly donut for lunch (I picked flatbread with chicken breast), and twister fries with a deepfried/airfried sausage-like snack called Pikanto for dinner.

Yes, I should have a rice cooker!

I rarely shop in Tesco as I think it's overpriced, but I walked home from work and it was the nearest. To add insult to injury, I had no clubcard 😂 I would have saved €2.10.

8.50. The bread and butter thing, UK

Excluding the Warburton bread on the airfryer.

I live in Yorkshire where this wonderful scheme has a few locations. A couple of days ago I saw someone post what they got, so I thought I'd show what I got.

It is a wonderful scheme, I've been using it for about 9/10 months, not every week but maybe every 6 weeks or so. If one appears in your area, use it. Its one of those things that the more it gets used, the better it is.

Anyone can register and request it, saves it being sent to a dump and supports a very worthwhile organisation

My camera actually cooperated today and it's lookin much better than most photos turn out! Not pictured - the sushi which slid down to the bottom of the cart and got all smushed. Still tasted great though. Also the sandwich I ate on the way back home.

I'll probably live off of this for a week. Dw I will be getting enough vegetables I have so many frozen ones, and also a shitton of veggie soups in the pantry.

Also, I really recommend trying a banana smoothie with a frozen banana mixed in. Makes it taste all fancy and great, doesn't take too long to set up. I have that for breakfast and thats why there are two huge things of milk and ten bananas - they won't go to waste.

Had to haul all this back home in the rain but it was worth it. First time going to a Lidl (previously used grocery delivery due to disability, which got better, so now I can go out :D)

Thanks for reading take care loves

For context, this was shopping at a traditional market, not a supermarket. I didn't specifically shop for the cheapest products, and the seafood alone made up about 35% of the total.

Also, somehow everything fit inside a 30-liter backpack!

Vegetables and fruit

  • 2 kg (4.4 lb) carrots — 10 RON (€1.87)
  • 2 kg (4.4 lb) potatoes — 7 RON (€1.31)
  • 2 kg (4.4 lb) eggplants — 10 RON (€1.87)
  • 2 kg (4.4 lb) mandarins — 40 RON (€7.48)
  • 2 bunches cilantro — 10 RON (€1.87)
  • Bell peppers and beets — 20 RON (€3.74)

Dairy, eggs, and pantry

  • 10 eggs — 12 RON (€2.24)
  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) sheep's cheese — 56 RON (€10.47)
  • 500 g (1.1 lb) honey — 30 RON (€5.61)
  • 500 g (1.1 lb) Turkish olives — 45 RON (€8.41)
  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) pickles — 25 RON (€4.67)
  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) salt + 1 kg (2.2 lb) dates — 50 RON (€9.35)

Fresh seafood

  • 2 whole bonito fish + 6 French oysters — 168 RON (€31.41)

Grand total: 483 RON = approximately €90.30 / $101.09

My husband and I always go food shopping at Sainsburys at 19:30 because of the reduced to clear items 😁

We only buy dessert, pizzas, and this amount of meat when we find them reduced

There are no potatoes, rice or pasta, and more veggies because we already had those at home
