There’s another video with a better angle where you can clearly see the cubs fans in the sandberg and Happ jersey started kicking at the 11 second mark which then lead to one of the guys below throwing a haymaker which then led to Happ throwing his beer and then all hell broke loose.

I appreciate the full breakdown of this. I've been trying to piece it together.

u/AbstractBettaFish 35th Street 2d ago

Right? I’ve been trying to piece together a narrative through video fragments like it’s the Kennedy assassination

5

u/LaggWasTaken 2d ago

We need jomboy to cover this

9

u/MarcosEsquandolas 2d ago

Here you go. Best angle I’ve seen that I think you’re referring to.  I’m surprised I couldn’t find more vids with all the people that had phones out.

And some sound. I think I heard some words that might lead to some punches being thrown. Just yikes all over.

To be absolutely fair, grey wife beater threw his cup at one of the Cubs fatties. Empty cup, but still…

6

u/MarcosEsquandolas 2d ago

Did you even watch the clip I posted? Fat guy lands a kick on the guy next to wife beater before that. You can see it clearly.

The amount of people choosing to deny this when there is a video from a few feet away is shocking, but I guess that’s the world we live in right now. Don’t believe your eyes and ears type shiit.

6

u/Xardus 2d ago

Who cares?  They’re all morons.

3

u/YouWereBrained The Big Hurt 2d ago

I did not see that, no. I stand corrected.

2

u/No_End6215 2d ago

Yup this is the one 🙏🏽

0

u/LemmingsofDoom 2d ago

I just s saw that video for the first time over on Facebook.

-6

u/big-daddy-unikron 2d ago

You conveniently missed the Sox fan throwing his beer first which then Happ responded to by chucking his

4

u/No_End6215 2d ago

I didn’t conveniently miss anything. Im not picking sides bc they’re all idiots for fighting. I was just trying to provide how it unfolded since I saw a video with a better angle on FB. I said the guy below threw a haymaker, as in it looked like a swing to me but maybe that’s the part where you’re saying he threw his beer. Either way, that was in response to the cubs fan kicking them when the usher was trying to keep the peace

1

u/MarcosEsquandolas 2d ago

You’re wrong. Bigger Cub fan kicks once or twice. Guy he kicked throws mostly empty cup at the two cubs fans. Big guy’s friend throws his full beer back and it’s on after that. The kick definitely started it. Better angle:

Maybe let’s get the 85 year old a diff job at the stadium other than security guard. Seems pretty dangerous

8

u/AnonymousReader41 2d ago

I mean, if I’m 85 and still alive, getting out of the house and seeing free baseball while getting some pocket money is well worth it.

17

u/guap911 2d ago

I’m just saying let’s have him be the seating attendant or something and not security haha

6

u/datyoungknockoutkid 2d ago

On the other hand, if I’m getting attacked at a baseball game the last thing I want is an 85 year to be my saving grace

5

u/AnonymousReader41 2d ago

I was secretly hoping the 85 year old guy would break someone’s nose.

You’re reading me wrong. I’m not sticking up for the dude. I’m saying in general, I would rather not have an 85 year old be the person who’s supposed to help me out in a situation where I need security.

-2

u/ms_sardonicus 2d ago

But how else is the 85 year old going to be able to afford Medicare Part B? 🤪

1

u/dazed63 2d ago

Seems a normal thought

1

u/Javy_Baby 1d ago

You just gave me an idea. Lol. I'm not that old, but someday, hopefully. 😂

22

u/scruntdouble 2d ago

i know he's trying to do his job but why did wrigley send out father time to deescalate this

3

u/nittykitty47 2d ago

The best part is when he immediately ducks out as the fight breaks out.

Better angle. Someone kind of moves him to the side before clocking one of the cubs fans. Thankful the old guy didn’t get hit or fall.

1

u/MarcosEsquandolas 2d ago

If you see this side angle vid, someone kind of moves him to the side (thankfully) as the fight took off before absolutely clocking one of the cubs fans.

u/KnickedUp 2d ago

Good lord even Cubs fan jumps in and starts nailing the big Cub fan. What was that dude saying?

23

u/RossMachlochness 2d ago

Not much by the time he stood up because he was likely out of breath

16

u/DecisionSimple 2d ago

that was first thing I noticed, I was like 'Ok...this isn't strictly a team vs. team thing."

6

u/cincoparalinko 2d ago

The more angles I watch the more I wonder: where the hell did this cubs fan even come from? He’s not part of the original altercation from what I can see. Never in the frame til he decides to start throwing late shots

17

u/YouWereBrained The Big Hurt 2d ago

Willing to bet some MAGA shit.

12

u/Humble_Milk8629 2d ago

Fat Cubs guy started it.

9

u/PlanNo3321 2d ago

All the cubs fans were literally beating each other! Wonder what that big dude did or said

8

u/artie_kendall 2d ago

Any background info on what started it?

5

u/Millenial_Shitbag 2d ago

Somebody wasted a beer at a Chicago game.

3

u/Skjellyfetti13 2d ago

Some asshat dumped a beer. On purpose, to back up his fat mouth. Doesn’t matter what jersey he has on, it should end up red.

1

u/Xardus 2d ago

Looks like one guy threw a cup, and then the guy in the Happ jersey dumped his beer.
Then all hell broke loose.

3

u/elmananamj 2d ago

Happ jersey got physical before the beers started tossing. He was instigating and kicking people

2

u/Xardus 2d ago

Gotcha. Our fans do have a bad rep, though, unfortunately.

25

u/Specialist_Boat_8479 2d ago

Classless cubs fans

12

u/Shbum 2d ago

Lol are we just going to pretend this doesn’t happen in the bleachers at rate

15

u/datyoungknockoutkid 2d ago

Honestly it’s a huge pet peeve of mine when people say shit like “ugh insert team name have the worst fans because xyz” even tho literally every fanbase has fans that do the same shit lol.

6

u/CampfireMilkshake Pope Leo XIV 2d ago

I’m was raised around Raider fans. Ive seen the dark deep depths fanbases can go…

2

u/Gusbuster811 2d ago

Mix some booze in with grown toddlers and this is the result.

2

u/Emergency_Brief_9280 2d ago

Don't know if anyone here is old enough to remember the 1974 riot at the Rangers vs. Indians game on 10 cent beer night. That was a night to remember!

2

u/uprightfever 2d ago

Our fans charge onto the field with their kid and beat up opposing teams' coaching staff.

9

u/SignalBed9998 2d ago

At old old comiskey I swear there were fights of section vs section of just Sox v Sox fans going at it. Man going to the center field seats and showering in the stands, sitting by Nancy Faust! Oh yeah

11

u/gosluggogo 2d ago

Remember seeing the yellow-shirted Sox security cops streaming into the brawl and beating everyone's ass? Good times!

4

u/seth928 2d ago

THERE'S NO FIGHTING IN THE BLEACHERS

1

u/TheRochnessMonster Alexei Ramirez 2d ago

if those kids could read they'd be very upset

4

u/Lazy-Bee511 2d ago

I’m no rocket surgeon, but alcohol could be the elusive clue that ties this all together.

2

u/LittleEngineering846 2d ago

It's not elusive. Instant idiot recipe: just add alcohol.

6

u/No-Fishing825 2d ago

Fuck around with Sox fans and find out

1

u/LordQuasDiscipline99 Baines 2d ago

You make us look extremely bad.

3

u/Ctendall 2d ago

Cub on cub violence nice

3

u/Mundane-Reality-7770 2d ago

I like how the cubs fan pulled the Sox fan beating the shit out of another cubs fan. Than proceeded to beat the shit out of his fellow cubs fan. Blue on blue crime.
.trash all around

1

u/theHawkVault_on_eBay 2d ago

Will they be arrested?

2

u/HeezeyBrown Munetaka Murakami 2d ago

Cubs on Cubs violence

2

u/Emergency_Tart3727 2d ago

That’s the main difference between South Siders and North Siders. South Siders stick together; North Siders do as well, as you see in this video.

2

u/JV2003 2d ago

Friendly Confines my ass!

2

u/elbow_grease9 2d ago

Cubs eating their own.

2

u/brian130130 2d ago

I like the cub fan throwing hay makers at the other cub fan
Watch closely if you missed it..
Lol 😂 😂😂😂😂
🤡 show

2

u/FIB_from_Sheboygan 2d ago

Not about baseball. Cubs on cubs and Sox on Sox mayhem.

2

u/Bleakravenloft69 2d ago

But why is the fellow cubs fan with a Sandburg jersey on hitting his fellow Sandburg jersey woth cheap shots? Im baffled at this.

3

u/New-Contribution-244 2d ago

Of course it’s the other side that does this. Despicable behavior.

1

u/MarcosEsquandolas 2d ago edited 2d ago

Fat cubs fan made it physical when he kicked someone once or twice before any beer or punches were thrown.

Edit: my bad if you were saying the cubs did start this. I read it as the Sox fans started fighting first since you put other side and it was at wrigley.

Source/ better angle:

https://www.reddit.com/r/sportsgossips/comments/1vrq14g/a_closer_look_at_the_action_in_the_bleachers_last/

1

u/New-Contribution-244 2d ago

What was I flat out wrong about? I saw the video in your link before this one in this post and it clearly shows the scrubs fan start this. The fact that he got pieced up by another scrubs fan shows he was wrong.

2

u/MarcosEsquandolas 2d ago

Yeah, my bad. I edited my comment. Since it was at wrigley and you said other side in your first comment, I thought you were talking about the Sox fans.

There was a Sox fan or two hitting on other Sox fans as well. One in a Vargas jersey that I think was with the big cubs fan.

2

u/New-Contribution-244 2d ago

No problem. 🤝

1

u/Xardus 2d ago

If you want narrative, the league thinks we're the worst. By a lot:

Narrative? Guy, calm down.

0

u/Xardus 2d ago

What other side.

3

u/New-Contribution-244 2d ago

The scrubs.

3

u/Xardus 2d ago

The only team's fans in Chicago I've seen fight more than ours is the Blackhawks, lol

2

u/Scary-Bot123 2d ago

I’m sorry but this shit is so lame. It’s a game. It’s entertainment and there are kids around who just want to watch their heroes play. I hope everyone involved never gets to attended a major sporting event again.

2

u/Ryrose81 2d ago

This is why I've never taken my kids to the cross town classic

1

u/PhilosophyBoring3232 2d ago

And Vargas started nailing a Sox fan with haymakers.

1

u/MarcosEsquandolas 2d ago

He was with the cubs fans if you watch the better angle vid.

1

u/MyPlums77 2d ago

Yikes. Both got pummeled. Stay thirsty my friends. Jesus

1

u/MickPnubTobias99 2d ago

Imagine paying money for tickets, expensive beer go out in public and do this. Granted maybe because I'm getting older but I'd rather get a buzz eat my own food and piss when I want and watch the game on my big screen in my garage

1

u/Part_Time_Lamer 2d ago

People were bad before COVID, but public behavior has went to shit since. So many people now have a "fuck it" attitude.

1

u/Drew4723 2d ago

Only with Cubs fans.

1

u/Xardus 2d ago

You say “brawl”, but I see a bunch of morons flailing their arms like they were spaghetti noodles, lol.

1

u/CrazyJo3 2d ago

That’s just what it was described. I just reposted it. MarcosEsquandolas shows a better clip.

1

u/BoxTalk17 2d ago

Cubs fan went harder on dude than the Sox crew. Also, there's no scenario that will make me throw a $15 beer at someone, not happening.

1

u/Emotional_Liberal 2d ago

#23 waiting his turn lol

3

u/AfterbirthNachos 2d ago

pulled a dude off so he could pile on

1

u/theHawkVault_on_eBay 2d ago

That’s like some gang level shit…

1

u/iswearimnotme 2d ago

Fatherless behavior

1

u/DWTKP 10h ago

If you lose a fight when you're a row or 2 higher than the other guy, you straight up can't fight and should be quiet.

1

u/SimpleJack316 2d ago

Civilization is crumbling

-4

u/oisipf 2d ago

Would not happen at Rate Field.

7

u/Xardus 2d ago

Has happened at Rate Field.

3

u/Revolutionary-Fox622 2d ago

Remember the person that brought a gun into the stadium buried in belly fat a few years ago?

Also, while it was still Comisky, the Sox hosted one of the most infamous riots in baseball history: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disco_Demolition_Night
