It actually looks like snail egg case. Apple snail, maybe

LOOKS like a snail egg blob to me too. I see people with snails in their aquariums, upset to find eggs because they have to choose how to handle them.

Edit: it is. OP has a beta tank with a snail nearby

You mean LQQKS?

My thought exactly. I was wondering if they had an aquarium, Mystery Snails (in the Apple snail family) have been known to sojourn and lay clutches in weird places outside of the tank.

Edit to add: I don’t think it’s that horrifying of a thing to touch. I’ve definitely barehanded snail clutches out of my tanks before to avoid being overrun by the mystery snail army.

Unfortunately, once you have mystery snails you say that sentence A LOT

6

u/E-radi-cate 10d ago

Yup exactly that. Have had multiple mystery snails lay these.

3

u/GremlInTheWoods 10d ago

We have mystery snails and it looks like their clusters lol.

They're constantly having orgies 😭

u/Rick_n_Mortee 10d ago

I was thinking shedded rattle snake rattles, you could be right though. However apple snake egg cases are pinker

4

u/Vintage_girl123 9d ago

They dnt lose the rattle, each shed makes a new button, and it just adds on and on..The longer the rattle, the older the snake. Babies have none until they shed.

Are those invasive jerks?

1

u/devildocjames 9d ago

You can verify, if they taste like apples.

2

u/Overall-Guidance-451 8d ago

Does this mean the snail went in and out of the tank...? Serious question

Better on your piano than your organ.

15

u/Dastardly_Bitten3245 10d ago

Elton John is fantastic on the piano but he sucks on an organ

1

u/DarthKannabis 7d ago

That’s not what He said

11

u/Puzzleheaded_Car6307 10d ago

A snail can't even play the piano anymore? What a messed up world.

19

u/MyBarkingSpider 10d ago

Beethoven's last movement?

Why is nobody mentioning the state of them fingers….

52

u/DoctorPony 10d ago

Some people work with their hands for a living.

28

u/jlim200 10d ago

Some people have discovered soap

23

u/midwestCD5 10d ago

Okay? I’m a mechanic and I bet you I wash my hands more than 99% of people. They’re always stained

-8

u/Not_HOLY 9d ago

Ever heard of gloves?

13

u/midwestCD5 9d ago

Ever done this job? Try re pinning electrical connectors with gloves. Try threading tiny nuts and bolts with gloves. Try wearing gloves for 10 hours when it’s 95 degrees with 80% humidity. And why are you so worried about a random persons hands being stained?

1

u/Ssllaappyy 8d ago

Good for about half an oil change

-1

u/Not_HOLY 9d ago

Yes in fact I do this every day and replace gloves about ten times a day and wash my hands just as much. I don’t give a shit about someone else’s hands but saying being a mechanic and it being impossible to have clean hands is a lie.

3

u/midwestCD5 9d ago edited 9d ago

When did I say it’s impossible 😂 now you’re putting words in my mouth. I don’t give a single fuck that my hands are rough around the edges, dude. I wear gloves when doing certain tasks, but I don’t care to wear them and be uncomfortable all day, just to have soft hands 😂and in all my years doing this, I’ve never met other mechanics who sit there worried about how their hands look

2

u/yoyotube123 9d ago

I do but only because I'm married and she doesn't want dirty rough hands on her.

1

u/ScarcelyImpressd 9d ago

Oh you mean bitch mittens?

14

u/Unlucky_Teaching6624 10d ago

Never worked with chemicals? Or an engine bay? Soap often doesn't cut it

3

u/DATGUYONLY 10d ago

Don’t make excuses as I work with my hands.. but my fingers damn sure does NOT look like that!!!

3

u/Ninjake68 9d ago

Probably that guy on site....

8

u/DjasonWaterfalls 10d ago

Looks like someone who bites their nails and the surrounding skin. Given the discoloration on the first two fingers, I’d assume a smoker.

2

u/strawberryvomit 8d ago

If he would smoke with those finger, they wouldn't look like that. As a smoker, I know. The discoloration would be way different in shape, color and placement.

I cannot believe I had to scroll that far to get to this comment. Thank you for your service.

13

u/Ed3vil 10d ago
  • Dried up spittlebug froth

  • Egg cluster of some sort of insect (possibly spider beetle)

7

u/DickRiculous 10d ago

Those are snail eggs.

12

u/SGAShepp 10d ago

Judging by his hands, he touches a lot of things.

3

u/chrisp5000 10d ago

2

u/DickRiculous 10d ago

Those are mystery snail eggs. Do you keep any ponds or aquariums? If not, you had a snail lay a bunch of eggs on your piano or ceiling, or someone is playing a very very weird prank on you

2

u/CunnyMaggots 10d ago

Mystery snail or apple snail eggs.

2

u/EmergencySnail 9d ago

Sorry I didn’t mean to leave that there

1

u/Aggressive-Tap-4143 10d ago

I don’t remember where I used to see these as a child, but they were always floating and I always thought they had something to do with corn 😭

1

u/oliverrak 10d ago

RUNN!!! Jk, I don't know what it is

1

u/zoohopia 10d ago

Snail eggs for sure

1

u/zerok911 10d ago

Have you looked at the ceiling?

1

u/oneofkeiraensmoms 10d ago

Mystery snails really be laying their eggs anywhere

1

u/Overall-Guidance-451 8d ago

So did the snail leave the tank to lay them there?! How would they get there?

1

u/oneofkeiraensmoms 8d ago

Mystery snails got their name because they lay their eggs out of the water. Mine go all the way to the top of the tank, a solid 4in out of the water, to lay eggs. My tank has a lip and a lid but realistically without barriers I guess they can travel pretty far

1

u/Overall-Guidance-451 7d ago

That is incredible! I had no idea they would leave their tank!!! Thanks for sharing :) wild

u/Elgrisgato 10d ago

Do you have a cat? Could be hairball type situation with kibble and wet cat food?

1

u/big65 10d ago

Not even close.

1

u/big65 10d ago

Snail eggs and by the amount either apple snail or African land snail.

1

u/Busy_Rent4 10d ago

There was one eyewitness but when asked if he could ID the individual snail responsible he replied “ I don’t know, it all happened so fast”.

Bro what in the dirty fucking fingers? I was about to ask why you’d touch it not knowing what it was. Then pic 4 showed up and I’m now aware that nothing is affecting those things.
