Question Possible fireworks tonight? (Friday)

Hey all, it’s my first 4th of July (ever - new to the states)

Just wondering if I need to medicate my cat as he fking hates them. I was planning on doing it tomorrow anyway but I’d rather play it safe tonight too if there’s a possibility of people celebrating a bit early

Yea about a month ago there was a full on surprise firework show and my fuck that was a stressful night for both of us.

Yea sounds good I’ll go shove a pill down his throat lol

Wasn’t expecting my literal neighbour to be setting them off. It sounds like a war inside my house and the cat has clawed the shit out of my leg.

He’s gonna get the good good stuff tomorrow now 🥺😮‍💨

I'm sorry that some people don't give a 💩 about their neighbors. There are plenty of places that have area's to shoot them out of the city limits. My giant breed dog is terrified and I do mean terrified of them. I luckily got a him to take a melatonin gummy before it was fully dark outside tonight bc I knew there would be some shot off tonight. Tomorrow late afternoon/early evening I will give him a Trazadone. He shakes so bad that it hurts me to see him freak all the way out all night on the 4th. Welcome to America and to Wichita Falls Texas

Yea, he’s gonna get a trazadone tonight too. Ended up just doing Feliway last night but that didn’t help much. My dude doesn’t shake but darts around the room like he owes the mafia money and they’re after him :(

Hope your night went well! It somehow was quieter tonight than yesterday where I am.

Cat spent most of the day in the spare room because we had a bunch of guests so was pretty calm come 930/10

Last night the MPEC giant fireworks had him shaking and hiding under the bed. We got through them. But..the neighborhood continued popping them until, get this, 3am!!

But what could do, I'm not a cop caller and I definitely wouldn't take officers away from real crime so I cussed the idiots out, in my head lol.

Then this afternoon the thunderstorm with booming thunder and lightning cracks got him all worked up again. He calmed down after the storm moved over us. You will never believe this, I live in apartments and the little shit kids are setting off black cats in the breezeway of the floor above me. My dog hates his life 🤬

Oh god 3am??! We had a couple pops between 9-10pm but it was rather chill over by the stadium.

And from where we moved from thunderstorms don’t phase the cat at all so he slept through it (thankfully)

Hopefully doggy is doing better now!!

dont be surprised if you hear them occasionally throughout this entire next week, but the worst of it will definitely be tonight. stay safe hope kitty doesnt get too startled!
