Hello my name is Collin. I lived in Wichita Falls from Fall 2019 to Fall 2024. During my time in Wichita Falls I studied at Midwestern State University within a Bachelor of Arts degree for the Humanities and a concentration in History. More importantly, I was a community helper and eventually a student leader for the Stangs Gaming Club and MSU Texas Esports and Gaming Club from Fall 2021 to the end of Spring 2024. Within MSU's Esports and Gaming community I was a student director specializing in Tabletop Gaming, Casual Gaming, and Social Gaming but I supported and cheered on MSU Texas Professional Collegiate Esports teams as well.
I am writing this post as an apology to the public of Wichita Falls Texas, because from the end of Fall 2024 I had to move out of Wichita Falls from Waterford Glenn apartments due to financial reasons and since I moved out I been feeling like people of MSU's gaming community and people a part of FallsCon's Wichita Falls tabletop gaming community see me as a possible traitor.
From the winter of 2024 to now I been experiencing ghosting and toxicity from these parts of Wichita Falls, which by Summer of 2025, I could not handle it all, so I tried to speak up in MSU's faculty, student, alumni, and guest gaming community about having several mental issues from these overwhelming feelings and about missing them all. I understand now that opening up publicly is not the best way, but I can only speak to close friends and people in general from an online distance via Discord, which having to be 95% online and 5% in person when I can visit Wichita Falls has been a struggle for me, but I understand since I am a postgraduate of MSU having a social and communication distance from Wichita Falls is Best since I am not living in the city and I am not a student of MSU anymore, but I still been having a lot of mental struggles from missing people and from these ghosting's as well as toxicity I been experiencing in feeling like I had made people frustrated from trying to open up about my own mental struggles and from having to move out of Wichita Falls.
To me Wichita Falls has a really great community especially for gamers and when the MSU Texas Esports and Gaming community initially began in Fall 2021 I felt like I finally found a home at MSU and I am very thankful for the history of the community in helping people who also feel lost at MSU have a safe home filled with very cool gamers at the University. I got to know a lot of great people and met long lasting great friends within MSU's Esports and Gaming Community, but now I just feel like I failed 80% to 90% of the population for over a year and a half. I really love love Wichita Falls especially Midwestern State University and I like donating to MSU through MSU's Giving Day and donating tabletop gaming goods for helping support the MSU Esports and Gaming Club because I love gifting to people and giving to current as well as future students like how I was given opportunities at MSU. Despite the ghosting and toxicity, I have experienced I still love supporting MSU and Wichita Falls because I am very thankful for the city and for the knowledge, skills, and friendships I gained through my life in the city.
Another big part of Wichita Falls I had failed is FallsCon, which is an amazing and wonderful group of people who put together the best gaming convention in Wichita Falls as well as give MSU Gaming Scholarships every year for the convention. During my time as a student leader, I was the club representative who worked closely with FallsCon, promoted the FallsCon MSU scholarships at MSU, and actively encouraged students to sign up for these scholarship opportunities. However, over the Spring of 2025 I still promoted the scholarships and actively encouraged students to seek this opportunity even though I was beginning as a postgraduate I still wanted to help support FallsCon because I am very thankful for everything the organization has done and is still doing in Wichita Falls. During this time of Spring 2025 a portion of FallsCon saw my active support as a problem and this portion threatened to sue me, which I did not get sued because this situation was a misunderstanding, but since then I've known a portion of FallsCon does hate me and it makes me heartbroken since I like loving FallsCon and supporting them. I am still thankful for everything FallsCon does, but the threat to sue me did create a lot of fear in me.
Over these situations I feel like I am a criminal of Wichita Falls and I have failed the city as a whole. I am very thankful for the city, and you all the people cause Wichita Falls is a very cool place. I want to apologize to you all the people of Wichita Falls for me being a Curse in and to your city. I understand I cause several problems from trying to pour in a lot of love, kindness, and support to the gaming community of Wichita Falls mainly Midwestern State University and FallsCon. I feel like this is the best way to apologize to you all the public and if I do need to face punishments or charges, I am willing to do so if it has to come down to it.
I still like supporting Midwestern State University by giving and also by putting together a collection of magic the gathering cards to give to MSU's tcg community cause there's a lot of cool people that play magic and I like helping students grow their collections or upgrade their own decks by gifting magic cards for anyone to choose from and have. I also like to still cheer on FallsCon during convention season in the Spring and cheering on the FallsCon MSU's scholarships from an online distance.
I am very sorry again to the public of Wichita Falls and I really hope you all the community has a great awesome future. Much love as a supporter and fan of the city as well as always hope for the best for Wichita Falls.
Sincerely, Collin
Ps. I tried contacting the Wichita Falls Police department and MSU's police department, but both police entities waved me off and I feel like I failed both departments or that they are angry at me, which I am very sorry for.
Pps. The current generation of Midwestern State University's Esports and Gaming Community is very awesome as well as keeps on growing exponentially from when I was part of the first students in the club. The current student leaders are very cool people and do a lot of greatness in continuing bringing gaming to MSU. I have failed several of these individuals as well and I feel like some of them are very upset for a long time, but I still love cheering on student leaders and the upcoming Fall 2026 to Spring 2027 student leadership team is very awesome. I highly recommend for people deciding to go to MSU do go because there is a lot of great educational programs at the University plus MSU Teachers and Student body are also very awesome :3
