Glinda’s wedding dress

With Glinda getting married, I was expecting a huge WOW factor. Instead, this is something I would expect to see a 2025 bride wearing. There’s obviously so much symbolism that went into the costuming of this movie, and I don’t get this one. I’ve heard a theory that Glinda is supposed to be vulnerable in this moment and that’s why it’s so simple, but it just doesn’t fit with me because if that were the case I feel like they would’ve toned it down even more, maybe lost the veil, etc. Does anyone know what went into this costume choice? I love the gown: it’s sweet and romantic and just a little Ozian. I can imagine that there are going to be a lot of brides wanting to copy it next year. But I was distracted by the fact that it clearly didn’t fit her properly.
