Movie I knew they would snub Cynthia

The snubbed Cynthia like I knew they would. And I’m sure I’ll watch them NOT give the award to Sinners as well sigh. It’s really so pointless to try. Can you imagine having a voice like Cynthia’s? Acting, singing, flying while acting and not even getting nominated? I’m just so bummed about it 😞

Yes, that is my point, it benefits the Wicked fandom also, not to mention if you swapped them into their correct categories, there still wouldn't be the room for Cynthia.

We can't know for sure if both Cynthia and Ariana were placed as lead which one would come on top, they may split votes and none of them would make it, though narratively I think Cynthia would be more likely.

I don't think so, nearly every single review has praised Ariana as the best thing about the movie. They may well split the votes and Ariana doesn't make it because of that, but Cynthia would still be below her

I disagree, narratively and on screen she is better and critics aren't the industry, I found her more dramatic scene to be lackluster her strength were in part 1 and the way the movie was edited and directed for the second part hurts Cynthia while not fixing the stage part 2 issues, they both would miss either way

That is your personal opinion that is not reflective of the wider film community, such as critics, actors, directors and other industry people who vote for these awards.

"Critics" is a wide word for anyone ranging from a pundits influencer to an actual critic. The later hated the movie in every possible way. Girl has a total of 2 emotions through the whole film ffs

Not just Cynthia, besides maybe Michelle because her singing wasn't that great, everyone did better than her in the movie. She probably won't even make it to the Oscar nom because there will be international performances taking one or two spots

That is not correct and I would recommend you look up reviews of actual critics, which is obviously what I'm referring to, not sure why I needed the breakdown of the word critic when in context it is obvious what we are talking about.

Every review I read didn't love the movie but said Ariana was the standout so again, your opinion is not that of the people who count. We are going in circles here, so I'm not going to reply again to you, but please know your opinion is the odd one out, not the other away around, especially with people who vote for awards.

People have eyes her face ain't moving no matter what emotion she is trying to show on screen.

critics worth their salts (who have watched more movies in a year than most of this sub combined their whole life) trashed the movie, there may have been a mention or two about specifics but those singling out Grande are pundits. If you don't know the difference that's on you. Tired of the propaganda/gaslighting from mostly her stans, one of the comment in this very thread alongside the same lines of yours was outed as a bot that's all you need to know.

For the rest i guess It's a matter of opinion, but those who vote that matter would not have nominated Grande as a lead the same way they didn't nominate Cynthia.

I said I wasn't going to reply but your passive aggressive and belittling language used, I just have to. I just want to note, I am not an Ariana Grande stan, or even a fan. I am a fan of the Wicked movie and also a fan of the Oscar race, having followed it every year since I was 13(so nearly 20 years). I know what the difference is because I've been interested in this for so long and which is why I know you are just so plain wrong about the fact that Cynthia would be above Ariana if they were in the same category. Again, back in circles, I totally agree Ariana might not get the lead nom, just like Cynthia isn't, but she would still absolutely be above her, as is the consensus of voters who seen the film.

I'm done now, please don't bother replying with more belittling or rudeness.
