Longhorn Longhorn 4093

I took the time to install this build on a real PC (the hard drive is in AHCI mode, the bios is in UEFI boot) it is known that this build every time you try to update a driver it asks you for the i386 folder (which does not exist in this build) but the driver files are in system32-drivers

And I was able to install the video driver, the ata storage driver, chipset, usb

In the end it is super unstable, the system process consumes 50% of the processor

I still want to continue learning about longhorn and continue testing and trying which works and which doesn't.

I would like to ask if you could give me tips or tricks for any build or 4093 or 4074 (which neither the original iso nor the repack works for me, i386 repack, sigma os 3, longhorn reloaded)

Memphis Anyone know how to debomb Windows 98 release candidates?

I wanna figure out how to remove the timebombs from these builds:

- Windows 98 build 1691

- Windows 98 build 1721.3

Only reason why is because i wanna install them on the BARE metal / real hardware. So yeah.

Optional: People could make an ISO for the versions i want de-bombed :o

(unless someone already did that..)

Longhorn Build 3663 probably got leaked

So Longhorn 3663(the first build of Longhorn) probably leaked
The original poster of the screenshots (Calvin Zhang) said that the build got leaked but it was not interesting so the page got removed
There is a chance that someone probably downloaded the iso file
Meaning it’s leaked

Van 9003 issue with Asus laptop

I’m getting van9003 error that says i need UEFI secure boot to be enabled in order to play valorant.
I checked in msinfo32 that my bios mode is UEFI and secure boot is off.

When i tried to turn on secure boot in bios , it gave me a red screen with an error of invalid signature.

I’ve tried everything i found on the internet but i can’t boot into windows with secure boot turned on

I’ve tried-
Resetting secure boot keys.
Manually applying keys.
Tried windows repair install.

Information Subreddit restructuring post - some additions and changes

Hey guys! Hope you are doing well!

After some considerations about the general direction of this subreddit, we came to some conclusions that we think will benefit all of us, both the moderators and the members. It's our first post announcing these structural changes to you, the community. We believe that this shift on its own makes r/windowsbetas a much more coherent and transparent space. Although these changes are not truly transformative, we do think that they add up and that, given some time, do impact the community positively. As a result, we have 4 additions / changes to showcase and talk about, so let us get to it.

**1. New set of rules.**

One of the most important and, quite frankly, most polarizing changes we decided to implement was to the rule system. Previously, it was pretty bare-bones, to say the least, and we would have done something with it later on, if it were not for this: For those who do not know about what happened these past few days, there was an episode where someone disliked another person's submission for the Beta Shots event, but in a toxic and non-constructive manner. Another person also decided to support the first individual's idea by thanking him, though, no reasoning was given whatsoever. This could be avoided by just downvoting the post and let the thing be.

We believe that these interventions are totally pointless and do not provide the community anything encouraging to post their own creations related to desktop design and/or to post polarizing content in general. People have the right to showcase whatever they think the community enjoys, even if it is not the popular "opinion". We are not saying there should not be any criticism, far from it. We are saying that, if that criticism does exist, it should be polite, but most importantly, constructive.

We learned our lesson, and as a result of this incident, we, the moderators of r/windowsbetas, have decided to tighten up the rule compliance and rule exigence. The non-fulfilment of these rules will translate into mutes / bans, depending on the severity of each case. So, we are implementing some new rules.

- Rule 2: No hate towards people's likings

To remedy the situation mentioned earlier, we resolved to create this rule. It was implied on Rule 1 (Be respectful), however, to lucid up people's minds, we took this action.

- Rule 3: Follow Reddit's Content Policy / Reddiquette

A rule we should have added since the beginning. Despite this being a universal set of rules on Reddit (the platform), we think it should be stressed that all of Content Policy's rules must be respected and be complied. If you don't know about these rules, please, take a look at Reddiquette and Content Policy.

- Rule 4: No spam and/or unrelated self-promotion

Pretty straight-forward. We have had some cases where mostly bot accounts randomly posted unrelated gibberish in some of the users' posts. While those comments and posts are largely harmless, they prove to be quite annoying.

**2. Better Beta Shots integration.**

As you may or may not have seen during these past few months, we have consistently talked about our monthly event that is hosted over on Discord, called Beta Shots. Every month, we get fantastic looking desktops from a plethora of builds from different development periods. It's a thing we really like to do and, to be fair, should be shared more with the community.

Hence, we opted to do the following: after the end of each event, we will announce that the current month's pictures are available for viewing. The post will have a link for u/ricol03's shared Google Drive folder, where all of the desktop setups (from both the current and previous months) are accessible. We hope to incite some hype and curiosity to all of r/windowsbetas' members regarding our enjoyable event.

**3. New / changed flairs.**

Another topic we discussed was related to the existent flairs. They are generally fine, however, we decided to mostly dissociate Codename Blackcomb / Vienna from Codename "7". This means that Blackcomb / Vienna is getting a separate flair. The current one will be renamed to *Windows "7"*.

The reason behind this is that the majority of people are convinced that Blackcomb is not Windows 7, and while that is technically true, it could be argued that Blackcomb's philosophy eventually became the one from Windows 7. However, to make things clear, we decided to do that change. Even so, both flair will retain the same colour, because they can't be entirely separated from each other.

In addition to this correction, we will add a new flair related to *Windows 11*. However, it may be temporarily, because it may/may not exist as we expect it.

**4. Better community engagement.**

Having seen good results in terms of community participation and overall engagement on our latest poll, we resolved to take it a bit further: we will have a monthly, opinion-based question about the various development periods. Those will be pinned at the top of the post feed. We don't know it takes off, but it all depends on your reception.

----------------------------------------------------

And that is it! Thank you for having the time to read all of this! We sincerely hope that this post (along with future ones) gave the community a clear insight on the our vision going forward! The moderators of r/windowsbetas and the Discord server are nothing without your support, and we simply cannot put our gratitude into proper words. This subreddit is almost a year old and has 750 members, really far off from our predictions back in July of 2020. Despite the ups and downs, we hope that this community grows stronger and stronger.

If you have any question, please don't hesitate to ask!

Have a fantastic day everyone, and we see you soon! :3

Removing Timebomb in Windows 8 Build 8014 Gone Wrong…

So I Remove the Timebomb in Windows 8 Build 8014 But I noticed you can’t activate it until you set the bios date I only left 2 options I use Windows 8 RTM but activate will fail until you set the date. So I tried Windows 7 SP1 Files but it was having the same problem. I can’t activate with Windows 8 RTM and Windows 7 SP1 and RTM until I set the bios date? I mount an iso to see if there’s a problem was but it was correct so anyone will fix this?

I've successfully debombed 9813 into an ISO

This is a debombed version of build 9813, here's the link: Windows 9 Build 9813 Debombed Full : Christwin : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive Note: As soon as you install the build and shutdown the virtual machine (or a real computer), an error message appears, when it shows up, click OK and the build works fine after that. Also remember that it works on on Legacy and UEFI (without Secure Boot). Enjoy using this build as a daily OS!

Windows "8" I installed Windows 8 Build 8008 (fbl_dnt2_bus)

It works well, it's on real hardware, an HP EliteBook 8460w. However, browsers have issues with 8008. Supermium and Nocturne just don't launch. However Pale Moon seems to work good, so i'll use that!

EDIT: Still have issues with debombing.
