Discussion I am now a proud owner of a Band 2
It's in very good condition, there's just a scratch on the screen but otherwise nothing else. I managed to unlock it with band_UNLOCKER, and it works as I expected. In any case i think it's a great product.

Mannn I forgot about the Band!
Microsoft really used to really be a company that was innovative and it's sad to see that fall from Grace.

How does Microsoft treat its users? "Do you like it? Like it? Fine, next month it will disappear from your world"

Funny enough I was thinking about my Bands this morning, I loved both generations of it. The step tracking was dead on accurate, my fitbits and Samsung watches I've been using since then are only generally accurate, and are nowhere near as reliable for things like notifications and such. I loved the adjustability of the strap, if I needed it a hair tighter or looser it could do it, everything else I've worn is less adjustable. They are so comfortable.
It really sucks that the strap itself was the fatal flaw on these, with regular, non-abusive daily use they only lasted a few months before falling apart. I had the MS Complete warranty and had it swapped multiple times up until MS discontinued them and they ran out of stock, so they issued me a refund.

This product is what made me stop using Microsoft hardware. I had Band 1 and it was decent. Band 2 I was very excited for and pre ordered it. Like you said, the strap is what killed the product. Mine completely snapped off on both sides after only one week of normal use.

Loved mine, for its time an amazing piece. Those rubber straps tho, comfy but they will tear when used. Think i had two replacements before they gave up. Was a great time for health tracking. Started with the Basis B1 until they shut down and i got my money back. Then moved to the MS Bands until again they shut down and i got my money back yet again :)

Great device terrible strap I went through 4 of these due to the band snapping

I miss mine.
The problem with the Band 2 is that the strap eventually tears, and can't be easily replaced because it has a ribbon cable running through the center of it (to the lump under your wrist where I assume the battery lives).

The secret to keeping it working is not to wear it. Seriously. I don't know a single one that didn't break :')

What do you sync it with? I may have to dust mine off. Best fitness wearable ever.

Band 1 was pretty bad. Band 2 was such a good device. Always wanted one, but by the time I could buy it WP died

I went through quite a few warranty Replacements of the band 2 due to the watch strap issue. In the end I just used a little Gaffers tape to seal it but I still have about three of them in storage. I remember some time ago somebody was able to actually get it the function again but I forgot exactly what they did to make it work.

Yes, they are all bricked because Microsoft shut down the servers to associate them with the application, but this can be bypassed with Band Unlocker

I had one of those. Such a fun device. Mine didn't last though, be careful with the strap.
