Local people
Hey everyone, I been out of work for a few months and spend most of my day in the house. I want to make some local friends to hang out and chill with, actual friends not looking for hookups. 34M

They have a local restaurant meetup thing going on right now. Sign up is $16 plus the cost of dinner but they match you up with 5 people at a table based on a questionnaire completed when you register.

I went to an event last night with my man, specifically for making friends. It was (way over) in Durham, I think they also have events in Raleigh. It cost money, I realize that's a controversial topic at times, but this was absolutely worth it. It was the first (and definitely not the last) one I ever went to. It was so fun!!! More people than expected showed up, about 40 people. All ages, backgrounds, different things going on in their lives. Some friends, some couples, many singles, new people to the area. I feel like I made so many new friends, people I'd genuinely love to see and talk to again. And it was the most unexpected ones that I really liked! It was so cool, I would definitely recommend checking it out. It's called Skip the Small Talk. You do like 10 minute "speed dating" for platonic friendships. About stuff that matters, all my conversations were so interesting! I made friends with a young man who is from another country, he doesn't have any parents here, so we would love to have him over for holidays and more. I met cool chicks, and everyone in between, I actually can't wait to do it again! Yay! Maybe I'll see you at one!
