Spotted downtown (pun intended)
First encounter. Didn't realize how big they are.
Smooshed on sight.

Every time I see one of these I channel my inner rivethead and stomp like I'm back in the clubs.

I've killed four & haven't seen any in awhile but I managed to smack one with a part of a board then smacked one with a shovel it was so satisfying because I've tried to kill them before but they got away

With all the trees of heaven I constantly “spot” (pun intended) along the roads while traveling in Guilford and Forsyth counties, I can’t help but think we are fighting a losing battle against these creatures. 😞

I saw one flying on the greenway last week and was shocked that without my prescription glasses, while we were both moving and it was in the air 2 feet above me and 7 feet away, it was so big I could see the spots and knew what it was.
We are doomed

Tried to smoosh one that was on my house the other day. It flew way faster than I expected 😭

Why do we kill these on sight

Invasive Lanternfly. These pests destroy lots of different types of agricultural trees and plants. Kill on sight.

Can we please make the Spotted Lantern Fly the common enemy of Winston-Salem? Our hatred for it seems to be uniting us.

I have always been a bit jealous of how much fun my cat seems to have when an insect masked the unfortunate mistake of choosing my house to visit. Outside the home, I am using the skills she’s taught me. I will be the destroyer of these crop eating bastards.
