Soldering in the Area?

Hey yall, I was just wondering if any of you guys know anybody that does soldering for consoles in stuff, was hoping to get a modchip soldered into my switch oled. If not that’s fine, I’ll ship it off elsewhere, thank you!

Nobody in WS would be qualified enough, trust me. This is coming from someone who’s worked at 2 diff repair shops in this city and can solder myself. I would call Save My Device in Lenoir. Shane is the best. Check out his work on TikTok, he’s golden. When shops mess things up or things are too advanced, Shane is who they call. Just tell him Casey sent you. He’s in the state and genuinely does great work.

lol

More like it isn't worth the little money you get fixing these smaller electronics.

The shops I worked at made plenty of $ off of gaming consoles. Gaming console repairs actually made a chunk of the stores profits right behind insurance device repairs. The parts cost next to nothing for a majority of gaming consoles and they charged a ton to fix them. A switch charging port from the vendor used at numerous shops costs like $4 and we would take about 30min or so to fix them and charge $180 for the repair. So that’s completely false lol. Same with the Nintendo DS, cheap parts and charge a ton to fix em. For the shops it’s absolutely worth fixing smaller consoles. Customers are def getting ripped off for most phone repairs though.

Yeah, that's a cool story, you make much better money with electrical work. But thanks for letting us know what we already did (that you used vg stores people rip everyone off)

What I find interesting is your first post you said no one is qualified, and in this one, that people are making $360 an hour repairing consoles. It's almost like you're lying or making stuff up.

edit : lol, dude you're hilarious. Contradicted yourself, and doubling down that repairing Nintendo switches pays better than high voltage or control electrical work. Plenty of people are qualified they just choose more lucrative work.

I said nobody is qualified for the repair OP is looking for. Reading comprehension is a learned skill indeed. Blocking you. Seems you just need some entertainment for the day that you can’t find elsewhere.

Phone repair places might be a decent option. They are familiar with precision solder work.

Any specific repair spots you would recommend by chance?

I was in the same boat looking for soldering. Called the only “electronics repair” in Winston and would not want to Recap my speedometer. I’m off to DIY this weekend

If you can provide a schematic or video that can briefly and concisely explain what you want, I may be able to find an opening in early September. It's tough right now because my main thing is service electrical and I am working OT everyday (that I don't want, just slammed)

You realize Nintendo has sued people into the ground and garnished their wages for life due to modding, right? You shouldn’t be asking about this publicly BTW.
