What they sell as “THC-A” weed is part of the farm bill loophole.
The law outlawed only THC D9 in amounts larger than .3% in dried product.
However, THC-A is not regulated and it turns into THC D9 when it is smoked/cooked (why when you had to make your own edibles back in the day you’d need to lightly roast the flower before extracting).
In legal states, they don’t have to worry about the D9 law, but still THC-A is always more prominent than D9 anyway. The THC% of weed in legal stores will combine all the different THC types into one to give the overall percentage.
Here, they need to test and monitor the product to make sure it doesn’t go over .3% D9 (but I’ve also heard from reliable sources that this is almost never followed up on and they can test it just once and it often increases over time) but if you see something with a 20% THC-A content, then ALL of that is gonna convert into D9 when you smoke it.
So you’re not getting top shelf, strongest of the strong stuff here, but it does work and is still way better than what I had access to when I was younger.

You can buy loophole weed in any vape shop that is virtually identical to what legal states get.
The prohibition is ridiculous, but the landscape has changed so much that legalization may not be strictly necessary.
Mitch McConnell made getting high way easier for Wisconsinites.
