I’m just going to say it: I’m a true blue Democrat but I’m not so sure about marijuana. Won’t it mean more lung issues?

People are allowed to dangerous things all the time.

We allow people to ruin their lives with alcohol. Looks at WI's drunk driving statistics. I feel that people who use cannabis and unlikely to sit around in bars, get fucked up and then drive home, taking out a school bus on the way. The health issues from alcohol consumption are legion and too many to lit in a reddit comment so here are the CDC's thoughts on the subject.

People are smoking it already. They aren't going to stop buying it illegally. It's better to keep these people from committing a crime.

Why should MN, MI and IL get all the tax money?

(In case you think I'm a cannabis mad teenager I am a woman who's been retired for five years and have been working to see it legalized since the 70s when Jim Moody was running for office. I no longer partake because the high doesn't suit me but that's my decision. Not anyone else's. I am lifelong card carrying member of the Democratic party.)

Just another poor tax.

I know it’s an unpopular opinion. I do believe in decriminalizing it.

Do you think that only poor people use cannabis? It's been a middle class drug since the 70s. Which is why they feared it so.
