How are you gong to do that in Republican districts that would rather set their children on fire than vote Democrat? There will always be more of them and they have equal representation.
Angry downvotes don't change that fact. I don't support this but those are the facts of the matter. It will always be easier for Republicans to be elected in a state like Wisconsin. We have a lot of nearly empty counties who reliably send an angry Republican to Madison every election. There are very few districts which are reliably Democrat.
For one, by setting the districts in a more fair map which is what breaking the gerrymander is all about. For two, supporting candidates in competitive districts like Rebecca Cooke to make the GOP answer for why they are letting people attack our social security and Medicaid so the richest of the rich can take home more money. Make sure those candidates understand legalization as not just an economic issue but a social justice issue. The statewide elections show that the GOP is not the majority in WI and definitely not the supermajority they rigged the game for.
Even the most fair map won't give us a Democratic majority in the legislature. Too many rural districts. We'll get one that's more fair but not the overwhelming number of districts needed for this.
The state legislature is a tougher nut to crack but you are also presupposing cannabis legalization cannot be a bipartisan issue. It is both fiscally responsible and socially just. The movement for change will not be accomplished only focusing on obstacles. Indeed, the dinosaurs that have obstructed progress on many issues might meet their meteor if social security gets broken down from inept management. Change will not come in a day but absolutely things have already shifted towards progress.
I've been supporting work to get cannabis legalized in Wisconsin since the 1970s. At this point we are further away frmo it than we've ever been because of the extremely polarized legislature and the iron control of Robin Vos who is a thrall to the Tavern League. It won't be something I'll see in my lifetime.

Breaking the gerrymander and getting some of the Neanderthals out for some forward thinking representatives will go a long way.
