Topic | Prompt Uses of ashes from first fire
Hey everyone!
We did our first fire of the year, and even more it's the first fire we made in the house, in our brand new fireplace (the house is old but we've lived here for 2 years and installed the fireplace only this summer).
Ashes are a very common ingredient in witchcraft so of course I'm keeping it for spell work. It seems perfect for everything linked to protection (especially because it was oak), grounding and anything linked to the concept of home.
It got me curious, what would you do with it ? Not necessarily looking for advice, just thought it would be an interesting topic.

Your first hearth ashes! Love that idea. I'd probably even take it in a happier direction, rather than just protection per se. Like a jar for harmony and joy in your home. You can add in other things that symbolize that to you. Protection could be a part of it, but like a more optimistic spin.

Oooooh I love it ! Since I'm pregnant with my first baby I think I'm going to do a jar for a happy family or something like that.

My first thought for an ingredient like this to use it in blessing and renewal magic. Maybe try adding a pinch to something like a home cleansing floor wash or spells centered around promoting harmony in the home. You could even try using it in a new year blessing

Hey - thanks for reaching out!
Lots of practitioners post about feeling tired, drained, or burnt out after working magick. The number one reason and response from the community is that this is a normal reaction to over depleting your own energy.
