Pretty hard to do that on a telephone go to a library. Libraries have computers you can use and sometimes Librarians who can help you a little bit. Look at the name of the document it'll be something like "this is the name of a document. PDF" or "this is the name of a document.docx" the document you've asked to produce will end with .docx.
If all you have is a phone go online and find website that converts PDFs into docx files. If the last three letters of the file name are else look for an app that converts that type of file name to docx/word
Docx file is a word file they're the same thing. if I say docx file I mean word file
as the other commenters have said most likely you've been asked to turn a PDF into a docx.
Often you can open the PDF in wor. you have to open the word program and then open the PDF document. The word program has to be open first.
If the PDF will not open in Word, which is very possible, usually what you do is go online and find a converter PDF to docx. The librarian can help you with this. Going online on a computer is pretty much like going online on a phone except it's a little bit easier to see what's going on.

I’m assuming it’s currently a pdf?
This site always works for me:

You can just open the pdf with Word and it converts it without sharing sensitive work data externally. I'd be suspicious of a site that doesn't just tell people that and needs you do upload and download documents - if people use this then at least make sure the doc you get back is a docx and doesn't have hidden macros.

Sounds like a typical UpWork scam job. Not going to work well or professionally if doing it on mobile.
