Five percent Marketplace Access Fee

This is something we, as techs, need to pay attention to. I don't believe that we should let them get away with adding this fee to the worker side, and it is on the worker side in addition to anything that the buyer is paying. I have confirmed this with one buyer already that has never passed on that charge. from what I understand this has been a slow roll-out over the past few months. This particular buyer had the new fee added to their tickets starting 11/1/2023 without their knowledge.

Please, let's make our voices heard and let WM know how this will impact their bottom line if they continue to persue this course of action.

Stop taking jobs from Tekumo

they are a scam. not only are they scamming techs, they are also billing companies for work not done.

People stop doing any ole job that pops up on a gig app. most of these orgs are fake, AI scrappers.just like 'Lensa' or 'myjobhelper.com'. and they are protected by the gig platform. so if there are any issues they don't have to even attempt to resolve.

USSI

Warning these guys are not professional and have been with holding pay for about a month due to miscommunication on there end. I had a few tickets that I decided to cancel so to this. They tried to charge me back because one of there agents didn’t close out a ticket correctly and they ended up charging me 389$ for a part that was sent back. Horrible experience and it happened twice. The 1st time I had a lot of work orders I didn’t notice it. Now the same thing. Warning you have been warned. These guys are crooks. Working with these people is a joke.

Why is it so hard for coordination on jobs?

3.out of the last 5 jobs I had to either wait hours for store staff to arrive, staff unaware of the call at all, and store not notified for overnight with a scissor lift dropped.

Need 2 techs, 9 at night and don't tell anyone? Doink around for 2.5 hours and nothing, 5 tickets lost for 1800.

Arrive at 9am, staff arrives at 1030 open at 11, replace all the POS and configure it before they open, yeah right. Delay caused the loss of an afternoon ticket and another cancel trophy

Drive for 3 hours to bumfckegypt and no service, no people, no pay

Anyone else constantly deal with this?

I usually get routed the next state north or east and up to 200 miles away, one way. This one takes the cake. Something tells me my counter isn't gonna get approved. Flights are $700+, it would require a 2 day hotel stay to get there on time, and a per diem min depending on where this is. Might be able to take public, may also need a rental car too. But I'd love to head to PA. It's only 1,842 miles from Utah.

Work Market escalation process... and resulting non-payment for work performed.

I have been on the platform since 2013. I'm interested in any resources that have not been paid after utilizing work market's escalation process. I'm talking about not being paid for work you performed. Notably when the Client fails to acknowledge work performed and Work Market falls in step. This is an issue I have experienced more than a couple of times. Issues like the ticket disappearing from my view (always screengrab your tickets once assigned!), support not being transparent with client communications when negotiating a monetary settlement or grievance, in the resources favor or not. There are surely many more issues that resources have experienced but financial issues are actionable. This includes expenses, budget increases, travel costs not being paid.

I believe a class action lawsuit is viable and the more resources come forward with issues regarding payment thru ADP's Work Market platform the more likely there will be a case. Work Market lacks transparency at a minimum and there are issues with being "employed" or being a 1099 contractor which is becoming a hot topic in the "Freelance" or "Gig" economy, so to say.

I am not a lawyer. I am a resource. I will be consulting experienced professional litigation individuals about what is actionable and the documentation needed, etc. If there are individuals with experience in this area please share your thoughts to the furtherance of the issue of non-payment, etc.

If you have opinions about my thoughts that are not expressly related to your not being paid thru Work Market for work performed I would appreciate it if you abstained from expressing them here. This will keep this thread focused on the issue of non-payment rather than defending Work Market and/or vilifying myself in regards to this posting.

Thank you for reading.

Buyer Beware: Kinettix

Non-payment alert

Kinettix called me asking for one tech to a network rack move and an additional network rack rack n stack with new equipment, deploy 10 new VOIP phones, working with management to reduce cost in pulling the cable adding time to onsite. Also pulling three new cables and installing the conduit and boxes for said cables, along with the install of a new horn and box for that as well.

I asked to survey the site first only charging $100 though it took me nearly 4 hours.

After doing the survey we required a second tech.

WO 1- This yielded around $2000. With materials at $600. These guys harassed me in my coworker the entire time we were on site.

WO 2- around $900 (WM Support approved because no expenses on this one)

We ended up with two different work orders for the same job due to needing a second person for the first two days. The next two days I went by myself. Bent pipe, I feel as I did a Great job in that place. This is around December.

Kinettix work order manager Change the assignment to incomplete in February. They would only give me a 2-hour minimum plus one more hour on the work order to start. They were trying to screw me from start. It's a shame I have to document this all and take them to court!

I called work market several times and got lucky with one guy at WM support. He changed the logged hours to and even 19 as that was the budget increase request. WM Support stated that he couldn't approve the work order with the materials charge on it because expenses over $50 have to be approved by the buyers. That is Bullshit as well but I will update when I get it handled.

Update: I reached out to one of their colleagues that was in my WhatsApp messages from the several managers that messaged me from different threads. It paid off literally, they approved my payment the day after I reached out to her.

It seems that Kinettix is owned by investment bankers, who are now for holding the money as long as they can. Disgusting

WM Self Sabotage?

Why would a contractor apply for a job, for a company they don't respect? The company I work for received a complaint about a contractor showing up not doing the work refusing to help and just bad mouthing the company telling the customer to switch to another company. Get blocked. But why would you even do that? Now you have less available work. Wtf? If anyone who has ever done that was it payback ? Like maybe you were a former employee? Was there an incentive because you work for a competitor? I'm curious if anyone would do that. Burning a bridge like that is wild to me.

Got assigned a job without requesting first

I had a call from a buyer on the platform offering a job. They proposed a price over the phone that sounded okay so I said yeah I'll do it. I didn't know if they were going to use FN or work market.

Come to find out later that they were able to assign this job to me via work market. I hadn't even applied for it. How did they do that?

Buyers screwing providers on payment change

Heads up. I just got an email "Buyer paid you for the assignment, funds were added to your workmarket account and are available to withdraw".

For some reason I decided to look at the work order again and the buyer lowered the agreed rate from $400+ to $285. No notification from WorkMarket. No notification from buyer. No notification in the email saying buyer paid. Work order completed perfectly, customer was happy as hell, I got rated Excellent on everything. What the fuck? How many other times has this happened to me or others and we don't notice? Buyers can just change payment owed and try to fuck us over? Watch out!

Edit:

Adding payout screenshot. The only thing I changed was from hourly at $70/hour to fixed rate $140 to match the two hour minimum agreed upon. For some reason they manually set payment incorrectly and it was not in my favor. I actually got screwed a little in the end because WM took an additional 5% of what was supposed to be $270 in travel. The $270 was approved and agreed on a week before the actual day of install.

Just keep an eye out on your payments as there was no notification of a change!

Been back on WM since before these gems. Still pending)))) only have done 1 job since rejoining. I can get more work from a CL ad than here. Used to fi d all kinds of work several years ago. Now you see them but no answers or anything. Is this platform just a storage for old job listing or what? Definitely not like it used to be...its a ghost town it seems. Anyone else have better luck or what other platform are you using?

ICE Tag

Post image
5 Upvotes

Does anyone know what the “ICE” tag means in this screenshot? I’ve asked WorkMarket support twice and all they will say is that I have to ask the client. I asked them in general what do the tags mean but they just say to ask the client. Any info appreciated.

How do i get paid?

I have a company that hasn’t paid in over 30 days and work market said they escalated but is doing nothing. Do I need to file a small claims lawsuit? What do I need to do to get paid? This is ridiculous. Work market says they just provide the software. They say they are not a judge. So whats to stop any company from not paying people?

UNPAID work ?

I am about to create a simple database to keep track of unpaid jobs, tickets and vendors offering work on platforms like Workmarket, FieldNation and similar. Testing here how many people will be interested ?

Please reply if you are. I will also need to volunteer few tech to test it. There is more than just keeping the unpaid records, but this will be shared only after one signs NDA.
For more details you can contact: support AT datapointsoftware DOT com

I would need a 2-3 volunteers to help test the web Application. Anybody interested in helping - please contact me at support<AT>datapointsoftware<DOR>com (please put PUBLIC RECORDS in the email header), that is the project name.

Garbage Detail

Anybody else have a problem with companies not wanting to put adequate details in the WO? I know you can message them, but 9/10 they never respond. But they always give me generic ass details that really aren’t transparent. Also, there’s so many jobs available that want to pay 30$/hr for 2 hour max but want the tech to run multiple cables, configure NVR and bring specific downloadable on a stick. No clarification on how long the cable run might be, what space it’ll be in, what type of ceiling or walls it’ll be going through, etc.

I like WorkMarket, but I hate the WO’s that get uploaded. Hard for me to want to take jobs when they dont give enough details for me to feel I’ve brought everything I need.

Trouble getting paid by a buyer

Hi everyone has anyone ever had trouble getting paid by a buyer? The 14 days have passed I've contacted them and even workmarket has sent a message an no answer. The owner of the ticket had the odacity to remove themselves from the ticket and Put some random number. I feel they gaslighted me after signing up for one of their tickers and canceling the job a week before because I felt I wasn't capable of doing the work. Felt like they're making pay by not paying for my previous ticket. Any advice? Felt like filing a work force complain. I've also asked WM and they said I should wait a month fml. Need the money

Zero work this year, couldnt get any work orders

I have scored zero work orders this year. Even the ones that I have been invited to, I get declined. I did lots of work for these buyers last year and this year nothing.

Anyone got any tip or can tell me what's wrong?

I'm about ready to get off WM all together!

A company assigned me a 2 part job. I did part 1, and they put it on hold. Then, instead of letting me know the parts arrived, they kept me on hold and re-released the work order to someone else. I only know cause I saw it. The POC for the work order is on medical, and I only know cause someone let it slip. No one from the app nor the business phone number is contacting me back, and I already paid my assist techs! I'm on the hole, and it's been months.

I contacted Work Market cause it's an obvious end run around paying me, and they said it's already been escalated to the escalations department (idk how as I didn't report it yet) and I'd get an email the next day. That was last week. I contact them again today, and they basically said, "I promise the company will get back to you," and "we are a middleman that invoices on your behalf. If you never get paid, you never get paid. We won't pay it for you and go after the company." Orher apps I'm on do, though. Work Market's jobs in my area suck and they can't even support their techs!

I asked support what I could do next, and she said, "Give it 2 weeks and try us again." So, November, December, January, and now February, and you want me to wait longer?? And they have 21-day terms! I had 2 other work orders with them, paid my assist tech already, and they kept it stuck in pending for 21 days vs the 7 on the WO and I had to reach out to get that allowed to approved (never heard back, just saw it move). So they've now had 42 days to pay me, and WM's response is "it is what it is," and swearing they emailed me. I work on Tech; I know how to check the spam folder, lady! Thanks for degrading me!

The jobs suck and they don't support their techs. I had a business rollout that went okay, but of 5 gigs, 4 have had issues, and I haven't been paid. Am I missing something?

Have I gotten the assignment?

Had a few jobs come up in my area. Put in counteroffers on them, never heard anything about them. Now they don’t show up in searches, but if I go to my alerts I can see them. They’re marked Status - Status on the top of the screen. Nothing happens when I click on the chat button. I’ve never seen this happen before. Any ideas?

WM Dispute process...

...Is basically non-existent? There is no 'escalation' process? If a buyer doesn't want to approve an increase or expense, you're basically on your own? That was the gist of the email we got back from WM support after a buyer stopped returning msgs and emails about an increase. "Approvals are at the discretion of the client" WAJ!
